It was neither denying a goalscoring opportunity because the attacker wasn't in control of the ball, nor endangering an opponent since he mostly got the ball. Yellow at worst. And then they take the free kick 5 yards ahead of where the incident took place. Joke.

Getting the ball...mostly or totally....doesnt rule out endangering an opponent though. Thats not how it works.

Pff bit over the top Timothy

If it was a red for denying a clear goal opp then it was a mistake and an odd decision as he gets the ball and where the ball travels after the challenge should have made it clear. Apparently the ref also didnt spot that they moved the ball forward 5yrds.

If it was a red for dangerous play then I personally think its understandable and touching the ball is not enough to rule it out as you seem to be suggesting here. I thought it was a bit reckless, he didnt look in control and it looked the sort of challenge that couldve snapped his ankle.

He made a big error with his touch then made a perfect recovery challenge. To me it's not even a foul. If it was then the goalscoring opportunity thing is absurd as the ball was in the hands of the goalkeeper.

The reaction of the players says it all. Not one Wolves player expected it. Everyone was playing as normal.

5th choice when his ban is up, shame his last Premier league game for us ended like that but sums up his last couple of seasons

It's his own fault.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that from the moment Bradley Dack sat him down like he didn't exist in pre-season, he should have handed in a transfer request and moved to the Championship/League One.

He put himself in this position to embarrass himself. He should have known he was totally, 100% done at that moment.

No sympathy for him.

Everton defender Phil Jagielka was sent off for only the second time in his Premier League career – he is the oldest Englishman (35 years 359 days) to be red carded in the top-flight since Chris Powell (37y 81d) in November 2006.

Everton’s red card was their 90th in the Premier League – more than any other side.

Honestly thought it was more

He got the ball but his studs followed through over it, this day and age that's a no no. Also he was the last man. Clear red card if the ref deems it a foul which he did

Id say calling that perfect makes you look more like the one with an agenda Tim.

I flinched when he went in and expected the worst. From the first replay I assumed it was a red for a reckless challenge.

Hard to disagree

Think this suspension spells the end of his being a starter for the club. Give Coleman the arm band and get the new signings in there. Thanks for all the years of service but time to move on.
