It's a tradition at Everton........Dave Watson, Davy Weir, Distin, all cracking players in their prime but stayed just that season too long, it's unfortunate for Jags that Mina and Zouma aren't fit.

That is down to the manager / coaches rather than him, though how several of them have prefered Keane/Jagielka to Keane/Holgate is something that is unfathomable.

If only he could have stopped that free kick from going in.
Free kick being taken from 5 yards too far forward is inexcusable from Pawson. Getting a judgement call wrong is one thing, getting confused between where the foul happened and where the guy sat injured is another and it can't happen. He should be in the Championship next weekend

Thanks for the years of dedicated, and at times brilliant defending. Never thought he was well suited to captain, but I won’t let that cloud how good he’s been for us defensively.

That said, he’s a relic of a bygone era now, this new Everton is a different beast and he’s not part of our future. Let him go back to Sheffield United with a hearty thanks from me. Mina/Holgate/Zouma/Keane have got it from here Phil.

5th choice when his ban is up, shame his last Premier league game for us ended like that but sums up his last couple of seasons

Only people with clear agendas think that was a red card. He couldn't have played any more of the ball.

Pff bit over the top Timothy

If it was a red for denying a clear goal opp then it was a mistake and an odd decision as he gets the ball and where the ball travels after the challenge should have made it clear. Apparently the ref also didnt spot that they moved the ball forward 5yrds.

If it was a red for dangerous play then I personally think its understandable and touching the ball is not enough to rule it out as you seem to be suggesting here. I thought it was a bit reckless, he didnt look in control and it looked the sort of challenge that couldve snapped his ankle.

The debate over where he fouled him and deserved a red or not is ignoring the point that he should never have found himself in that situation in the first place. A simple pass from his fellow centre-back, with 10 yards of space around him, and he makes a complete hash of it and loses his composure completely. If that isn't a sign a player's legs have gone then I don't know what is.

Should never play for us again and judging by his face as he trudged off he looked as if he knew it. As soon as Mina and Zouma are fit throw one of them whilst having the other and Keane or Holgate as back up. Jagielka is of no use to any Premier League side anymore.
