Why does it matter who other teams have signed? I want to see an Everton team that plays the best possible football it can. That means having a starting line up that is strong in every position, with a proper tactical shape. Not one where we have to mix and match players to fit into a 4-5-1. It is a shame really that even now, after quite a few seasons of playing the same system, we do not have a first eleven that really looks complete. Hence we need to sign some players. Continuing to fill in the gaps with loans and small time players simply isn't the way to go about it. David Moyes should have a vision of how he wants Everton to play and summer transfer activity is the way that vision becomes a reality. Considering pre-season is usually when the shape of a team comes together, the fact that we have three integral players out with injury and are yet to sign a single player is worrying.

Incidentally, if you really want to compare us with other teams, I'll make the same point as in another thread; Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City, Aston Villa and Tottenham have all signed 10m+ players. In my book they count as 'big' signings that are acquired with the view to immediately improving the team. Everton, meanwhile, have signed no players at all.

BOOM!

Pre-season for us since last season seems just to get the squad back to fitness rather than anything tactical (unless perfection of the hoof is what we're aiming for if the tour of America was anything to go by).

We sort out tactics through the season....its why we'll drop points against [Poor language removed] teams.

Realist? Comfort zone?
Take a lie down mate. Or talk tactics, you're good at that.
Whopper season is in full flow.

The war's over. The positive clique lost.

When the routine bites hard
And ambitions are low
And the resentment rides high
But emotions wont grow
And were changing our ways,
Taking different roads
Then love, love will tear us apart again

that's where we'll be relegated to next season if we don't buy some players, kenwright out!

Mate, call an ambulance. NOW!(y)

But if Joleon goes, I do assume Moyes will get the money? If not, we're rather fooked aren't we?

The banks will be happy, mind. And I suppose at some point we do have to face that boring little thing, which is paying our debts.

Jesus, how long has Bill been away from Liverpool? He's just said Paddy's Market is still going in Liverpool (or "Pads" as he calls it).

Earlier he said he'd saved David Cassidy's career with Blood Brothers. Well done Bill. Another 10 years of that lad.

The man is babe magnet, when i tuned in he was reading a letter from some middle aged housewife in the bath.

And he mentioned Everton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Admittedly only after playing an Atomic Kitten song and how one of them supports us but i reckon maybe when he has finished giving the old bag in the bath one he can pop round and have a 4some with Atomic Kitten. They must be rich, maybe he could ask for a loan or soemthing.
