Why does it matter who other teams have signed? I want to see an Everton team that plays the best possible football it can. That means having a starting line up that is strong in every position, with a proper tactical shape. Not one where we have to mix and match players to fit into a 4-5-1. It is a shame really that even now, after quite a few seasons of playing the same system, we do not have a first eleven that really looks complete. Hence we need to sign some players. Continuing to fill in the gaps with loans and small time players simply isn't the way to go about it. David Moyes should have a vision of how he wants Everton to play and summer transfer activity is the way that vision becomes a reality. Considering pre-season is usually when the shape of a team comes together, the fact that we have three integral players out with injury and are yet to sign a single player is worrying.

Incidentally, if you really want to compare us with other teams, I'll make the same point as in another thread; Manchester United, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City, Aston Villa and Tottenham have all signed 10m+ players. In my book they count as 'big' signings that are acquired with the view to immediately improving the team. Everton, meanwhile, have signed no players at all.

We'll be alright

I'm not happy about these circumstances, but working myself p on these forums aren't goingto help anything. We as fans just have to get on with it I suppose.

Although I'd be a lot happier if we signed a right midfielder

This forum is generally more positive, you will have noticed that when you signed up to it.
If people don't like then there are plenty to choose from. People preaching doom on here are likely to be not to popular.
What happens if people can't stand posters who obsess over over rated Portugese loan flops and tactics? Perspective mate.

Exactly, and you still cry about the odd realist coming on and telling it like it is, exploiting your 'it's all good' outlook on Everton. Your comfort zone is being exposed and you can't handle it, fair enough.

I like a bit of variety though personally, I must say. Things aren't all good and there not doom and gloom either. Perspective mate.

you are just lying on the ground asking for a kicking.

you see your post, and lets not forget the 10,000 that preceeded them. hands down you underpants garbage.

you are the clotted cream in the arteries of this forum.

I thought you where some kind of teacher? Must try harder. 2/10.

I think that pretty much sums it up. There's precious little we can do here on this forum. It'd be great to have a Zanetti type right back signed up but it hasn't happened (yet). You either deal with it in a positive way or a negative one. Football doesn't dominate my life so I'd rather enjoy supporting the club than moaning constantly because we don't have gazillions to spend.

Take note, Brownstain in the house.

bingo. we have just finished 5th twice.

i'm really bored of people getting their knickers in a twist every pre season that we are going to go bacwkwards/ finish midtable/ even get relegated.

we have not sold any of our squad who got us to 5th and we have a month left to get players in the manager thinks we need.

as danny posted at the top of the thread, just who is it we are terrified of?

spurs because they replaced gunther with naughton?

you got your back up saying everyone thinks you have an agenda yesterday on another thread when i commented that all you do is spew negative bile about bill kenwright.

yet here you are again accusing him of stealing from everton.

He wouldn't do that. I'm just joking mate. Making a sideways swipe at the underfunding. I expect no better from Kewnright and the other board members on that score. I more or less said that earlier in the thread. I'm relaxed about the situation, tbh. Not frustrated or angry. You expect nothing and you're not disappointed. What I do expect in the medium term is a change of club ownership, and that's on it's way I believe. Something will happen off the pitch before Christmas I feel. That's more important than Moyes being able to sign Naughton or Elm.

Realist? Comfort zone?
Take a lie down mate. Or talk tactics, you're good at that.
Whopper season is in full flow.

I've touched a nerve haven't I? Just what I was looking for to be honest.

Your a lightweight mate, lie down Happy Gilmore, think positive things.

Lets see what happens when the window shuts. What will be is what will be. If we still havent got anyone come September 1st and have let Lescott go then i can deal with the slating but at the moment there is still 4 weeks to go. Plenty can happen between now and then.
