The man is babe magnet, when i tuned in he was reading a letter from some middle aged housewife in the bath.

And he mentioned Everton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Admittedly only after playing an Atomic Kitten song and how one of them supports us but i reckon maybe when he has finished giving the old bag in the bath one he can pop round and have a 4some with Atomic Kitten. They must be rich, maybe he could ask for a loan or soemthing.

Didn't hear that. I heard him talking about Betty Turpin from Corrie ("the most wonderful voice you've ever heard") and Tommy Steele ("the greatest entertainer of all time"). Sort of puts into context "David Moyes is the greatest manager around".

He also told a hilarious story of how he bodged his lines in Carry On Matron, something about how he read the line "Judy Darling" as "Judy, darling".

I bet Bill's character was called Mr Pinocchio the incorrigible liar who get's his nose trapped between Babara Windsor's baps. Oo er, madam!

Its f.ucking embarrassing reading some of the tripe that you guys write. We have the best manager in the league- we are putting bids in for players that he believes will strengthen us in the long run and not overnight. For one reason or another we havent signed anyone but we will.

This is real life not some shitty championship manager game that some of you actually post and say -'well hes decent on FM' Embarrassing.

If you want some faceless Sheik to come in with millions and buy any over priced turkey for immediate success that is not sustainable go support Manchester City and stay the hell away from my club. £25m for Adebayor?!!?? Embarrassing. £150k a week for Toure??!! Embarrassing.

We would all like to be challenging for the league but we also have to be realistic and put it into some perspective- we finished 5th Last year- above Spurs who spent millions, above Sunderland who spent millions, above Newcastle who spent millions. Spending money does not guaruntee success- Look at Real Madrids Galaticos v1, great players but didnt exactly do much eh? Man City anyone?

This site is renowned for being positive because the majority of us are fanatics (fans) that love the club and what it is achieving- there are other forums you can go to that would love to have you on board and I suggest you go there- Log In

Quite a harsh post there lad.

Thing is MickNick, I think every Everton fan on here is concerned that selling one of our two fit and experienced centre backs is not good this close to a new season.

Moyes has done very well since he has been here, most of the players he has brought in have been excellent and have performed to a high standard, yet despite finishing 5th for the past two years we don't seem to be able to buy more quality players to add to the team, to push us on even further, without selling a quality player.

That is the catch we haven't got enough funds to push us on without selling someone.

Last year we did well out of it selling Johnson for very good money and getting Saha and Jo in for no fee. If we sell Lescott will we be able to do it again? Who knows but i'm sure Moyes will give it a good go.

I feel if your not allowed to post your concerns on this fine forum for fear of having them called tripe, then it is a sorry situation. I tell you what mick, we will just agree with everything all of us say to each other and then we would see how many would stick around. Things would get pretty boring, i can tell you. If you wish to feel everything is all tickety-boo at Everton then fine, you are entitled to your opinion, and who know's your opinion may be true. However, many have concerns and many try to be reallistic about our club, but we dont live in an ideal world and things are not all fantastic about the club we love.

Astounding.

Its more the "omg we're being lied to" "on noes we are gonna get relegated cause spurs bought a player" ridiculous scaremongering posts which annoy people.

Well rounded thought out criticism of the club is fine, debate is fine when its constructive.

But when its "kenwrong started ww2 cause we haven't bought a player yet" people get annoyed.

Ok i'm exxagerating but you know what i mean. Trust me i'm as fed up with things as what you are, we have such a great base to push onwards and upwards but it ain't happening. I just don;t see whats to be gained by ranting and raving about it on here. Talking and discussing is fine but some people go overboard.

And quite simply regardless of what happens between now and the start of the season i will only judge the club by results on the pitch. Cause right now its all ifs and buts and maybes.

Just gotta take transfer activity (or lack of, whatever) in your stride and see what happens once we get going.

It all came good last year remember when many predicted disastor.

I agree with you that some go a little over board at times including myself, most of us are guilty of that. However those that are sick of what they read could easily look away and ignore the post. Getting involved by calling posts tripe is a little uncalled for just for the fact that you dont agree with what is written. Everyone is entitled to an opinion, however correct or incorrect it may be.

Ste, don't take it to heart but the constant doom mongering becomes tiring, it's all everyone goes on about.
Same here, I go online and really hope we've signed someone, and it's frustrating when we haven't but it happens like this every year.
It might be that Moyes is pedantic, it's probably that he's very particular about the type of player he's after to move us forward.
What is embarrassing is the amount of apparantly sane, rational fans who behave like bad blerts, believing half arsed hyperbole that the media have put together. And the club bashing, sound they don't help themselves sometimes but half the paranoid stuff posted becomes boring. For true examples of mismanagement, look at Newcastle or Leeds.
I'm not happy to finish fifth for the next ten years, I want desperately to see Everton win a cup sometime soon but it's a gradual process, one which is coming together slowly. Still fresh in my memory is being pissed off driving back up the M6 every weekend in the 90s when we were utter sh*te.
Things are much different now, enjoy then - hopefully they'll get better.
This place was set up, through lots of hard work and cost from D/D, to provide a forum to have a decent chat about Everton (and savory snacks) and it's hard to watch it move towards becoming like a massive Groundhog Day every summer when we haven't signed Riquelme by August.
But it ruins it for loads when this happens.
We've just had our best season for a long while, I'm sure Moyes wants to progress as much as anyone, Lescott going would be blow but we've survived worse and prospered so as the thread asks for.
