Ste, don't take it to heart but the constant doom mongering becomes tiring, it's all everyone goes on about.
Same here, I go online and really hope we've signed someone, and it's frustrating when we haven't but it happens like this every year.
It might be that Moyes is pedantic, it's probably that he's very particular about the type of player he's after to move us forward.
What is embarrassing is the amount of apparantly sane, rational fans who behave like bad blerts, believing half arsed hyperbole that the media have put together. And the club bashing, sound they don't help themselves sometimes but half the paranoid stuff posted becomes boring. For true examples of mismanagement, look at Newcastle or Leeds.
I'm not happy to finish fifth for the next ten years, I want desperately to see Everton win a cup sometime soon but it's a gradual process, one which is coming together slowly. Still fresh in my memory is being pissed off driving back up the M6 every weekend in the 90s when we were utter sh*te.
Things are much different now, enjoy then - hopefully they'll get better.
This place was set up, through lots of hard work and cost from D/D, to provide a forum to have a decent chat about Everton (and savory snacks) and it's hard to watch it move towards becoming like a massive Groundhog Day every summer when we haven't signed Riquelme by August.
But it ruins it for loads when this happens.
We've just had our best season for a long while, I'm sure Moyes wants to progress as much as anyone, Lescott going would be blow but we've survived worse and prospered so as the thread asks for.

Fully agree with you and micknick. Wasn't planning to post at all in this thread. Quite frankly, I'm getting fed up by all the negative vibes in the Everton forum as of lately. I know, everyone is posting out of concern and have Everton's best interest at heart, but it's certainly not as bad as some of you are trying to make out.

Nice one cloggy x

Villa are in a much worse state than us....and they were our main rivals for 5th last year. Ok we all would love to see a few signings , and I believe they will happen but the nucleas of th side is the same and last season wasn't a disaster was it!

You're spot on. It was for Snacks only but they had to do something to attract new members. They stumbled across this Everton thing, realised that Everton Soccer Fans like to chat sh*t online and hey presto: GrandOldTeam.

I bet we wouldn't get all this furiousness every year if we were waiting for a new flavour of Pringles to come out.

I can't blame fans for getting frustrated to be honest .
We can all write 10 pages of reasons , but we all know what the reasons would be before reading them .

So far , the signs don't look good in this window regarding targets , and we may or may not lose some more players before it shuts , and any we do get in will have missed our pre-season once again . Fans can easily be forgiven for being a little anxious .

What is different in this window is that for the first time in a long time , it's not just our fans who have gotten frustrated , but the top 4 sides too .

I just wont complain about a club i have supported and stuck by since the day i was born, instead i will over exaggerate everything to keep everyone happy. We will win the FA Cup this season, The Europa League and we will finish 2nd in the Prem losing just 4 games all season, is that confident and reallistic enough??
