Overrated Everton Players

Van Den Hauwe. Solid enough but lucky to be in a great side that meant he became a legend on the back of some hard man nonsense. Tended to be reckless rather than tough. Suppose it allowed sheedy some freedom but Baines, hinchcliffe or even Paul power in that team would have been spectacular

Jermain Beckford. People carried on like he was a top striker or even a premier league striker when we let him go. Subsequent to leaving he's toured a variety of league 1 standard teams, rarely scored more than 10 goals in a season. He was an awful footballer.

I remember at the time saying to lots of people Beckford would never score 10 goals in the premier league again, we've got the best of him. I got dogs abuse at the time but I have been proven correct. It's a shame I can't go back to that really.

As for others (no real reasons given);
Jack Rodwell
Duncan Fergusan (mk1)
Tim Cahill

Leon Osman. Never wanted to see him or Hibbert ever again after the '09 final. 6 and a half years later they're both still here collecting a wage and, in Osman's case, still getting minutes for our first team.

Embarrassing.

Nah, I think we all knew at the time that Everton could do better, it was just a bit disappointing that we didn't get some money for him. I can't be too hard though on someone who scores a goal like this.

To be fair i don't think either player is currently rated.

Please tell me this is a WUM ? He single handildly kept us up when he came on loan, forever changed the perception of Everton as a racist club, making it viable for non white players to be comfortable playing for Everton.

Legend .

Spot on, KC is one of the more important players we have had over the last 20 years.

I'm talking over the period of his entire career. In at least 60-70% of the games he's ever played for us he has been ineffective or just plain turd, like having only 10 men on the pitch. It's always mystified me over the years how so many of our supporters have stuck up for him and claim the criticism he gets is unfair.

The fact Martinez brought him on at the weekend made me cringe. I mean just look at how strong our squad is now in 2015. Players like Osman, even if he was 10 years younger, shouldn't even be cleaning the boots of this lot, never mind getting on the pitch with them.
