Heck no I'm not joking. What's the problem with potentially having MORE attacking prowess? We change the formation to the opponent, and I don't think a 4-4-2 is out of the question - not that we've actually played that in years.

Not saying it should be a permanent switch, but fluidity would be nice.

And who is to say Jelavic wouldn't work great with someone upfront stretching the defenses like a Mirallas or LD? Sometimes we go and try to start a counter and it fails miserably. Would actually love to have that in our arsenal one of these days.

Jelavic is working with Mirallas fine as he is, playing out wide drifting inside linking up with all the players I mentioned.

We are currently so fluid it is scary, we are playing the basic 5 defending solidly 5 attacking fluidly and it is working perfectly.

I get a bit frustrated with the basic we should be playing 4-4-2, at times we are and at tmes we are not and again it is working perfectly.

remember i met him before he played his first game for us, must be a good luck charm. Seemed sound but wanted to get away from me, understandably haha

I always thought he was a bit of a mercenary, that for him Everton was just a stepping stone but I love how he said at Wembley he watched the fans. He should've been concentrating on the game but it was a nice gesture ;)

thanks davor!

I always thought Fellaini was the biggest mercenary we've had in years.

Jela is sound

Jelavic only needs another 13 league goals this season to head into our top ten Premier League goalscorers. With 12 PL goals in just 18 appearences, he's already 27th in the list.

Jelavic may be working with Mirallas just fine, but I still would like to try another forward with Jelavic that could stretch defenses and give us more pace so that when Mirallas is streaking up the middle he actually has someone to pass to. Clearly this person is not Anichebe. If Naismith comes good it would be interesting to try him at RM and Mirallas at withdrawn forward near Jelavic and see what that does.

The formation should change depending on opponent. And at times I think the 4-4-2 should be a viable option, or the 4-5-1 gets just as staid. Sure, it's working. But could we be even better?

For example: against QPR do we really need 5 back defending?

Gladbach need to replace Reus who left for Dortmund, but unless the Bundesliga are paying more wages than we think they do Jelavic isn't going there anytime soon.

He will move on pretty quickly from us though if he has a good season. We all know that when this board's resolve is tested with a bid in the £12-20M range they'll be there to get a coat on the player and shove him into a taxi.

theres only one Davek that's for sure.

If and when Jelavic slots around 20 goals we are bound to get generous offers, no doubt. But that's not todays concern.
He is ours and we are following the Jelavic road
