theres only one Davek that's for sure.

If and when Jelavic slots around 20 goals we are bound to get generous offers, no doubt. But that's not todays concern.
He is ours and we are following the Jelavic road

If he slots 20+ we are in the champions league and won't sell him.

He's done very well since he came in. Better than I ever expected. This season (the whole of it) will show everyone what we have on our hands. He needs a full season to demonstrate he can be a top player at this level. I thought he had a ropey Euros, and his start to the season hasn't been explosive; but maybe he's blowing the cobwebs off now and we'll see him take up where he left off last season.

It's too early to judge his start to the season really, but 3 in 5 in the league ain't bad. He's well off the mark anyway, which is the first hurdle for strikers at the start of the season.

He wasn't even fully fit against Southampton either. So 2 goals in that one isn't too shabby. His first was magical as well -- the kind of goal only the really clinical kind of forward can score, and that's a type of player we've not been blessed with too often!

He permanently looks dangerous, like he's going to score any chance he gets

We've done very well getting him in. Long may the Boss Slotter continue

If he keeps getting service like Saturday, and steers clear of injury, he'll end up with well over 20 in the league. Over the course of the season we'll see just how good he is. There's no question he's an excellent finisher. If he bangs in 4 or 5 against Liverpool this season it'll do me!

If there's a better one touch instinctive finisher in the League at present, then I've not seen him.

He's got nothing to prove to me, I've seen enough, he's top drawer.

I'm really happy that he plays for us. We've got a really good attacking team now with a class striker, long may it continue.....

On the evidence so far he is top drawer. Plenty of players in the past have waned after an inspired spell though. Franny Jeffers looked top drawer once...and indeed he was until he fell away.

But then Jeffers went to Arsenal to become their 19th choice striker - you're not going to develop doing that.

And you can say the same about Campbell, Yakubu, Saha, Johnson etc too. You just have to hope he dodges injuries and can maintain this standard for the next year or so because right now he's exactly what we need in a striker.
