One of the things I like about him is he plays so intelligently. His movement isn't brute force - he knows where to be and has a canny ability to really read the play before it shows up. Smart football, smart player. Really combines well with the cast of characters behind him (would love to see him in a 4-4-2 someday, but probably that will be, oh, never).

Just a great, great pickup. Love him, and he already seems to love the club. Great stuff.

edit: just search NIKICA JELAVIC FUNNY INTERVIEW

Are you joking about the 4-4-2 cos I don't want anything to change at the moment, we are playing some beautiful football and winning when playing a very flexible 4-4-1-1.

Jelavic fits into this system perfectly and would play well and score with any one of Fellaini, Osman, Pienaar, Mirallas behind him.

Heck no I'm not joking. What's the problem with potentially having MORE attacking prowess? We change the formation to the opponent, and I don't think a 4-4-2 is out of the question - not that we've actually played that in years.

Not saying it should be a permanent switch, but fluidity would be nice.

And who is to say Jelavic wouldn't work great with someone upfront stretching the defenses like a Mirallas or LD? Sometimes we go and try to start a counter and it fails miserably. Would actually love to have that in our arsenal one of these days.

The Croatian international has been a big hit at Goodison Park since his £5.5m move from Rangers to Merseyside in January, netting nine goals in 12 Premier League appearances last term. This season hasn’t proven quite so productive but Jelavic is certainly a player David Moyes will fight tooth and nail to keep at the club.

LLOOLL

Yeah cos 3 in 5 is a shocking tally.............

I always thought he was a bit of a mercenary, that for him Everton was just a stepping stone but I love how he said at Wembley he watched the fans. He should've been concentrating on the game but it was a nice gesture ;)

thanks davor!
