New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

I've said the owner is responsible for whatever stadium we end up with. And I said that he should communicate if there has been misinformation. I've not said the stadium isn't happenning because I'll be amazed if it doesnt.

50k is simply too small for us and if we are constrained by the site then someone at the club should communicate this to the supporters.

Everton don't do fan engagement or communication. its the 'Everton Way'.

Well I currently think it will be 52k.

Which isnt ideal, but it will just have to do I suppose.

It doesnt mean the club has no ambition, no ambition would be to stick a stand on a very old stadium and charge fans 70 notes a game till they kicked off abar it.
If it's that low then the only ambition this club is showing is in providing the means for other parties to exploit a business opportunity at the docks.

This is beginning to stink of the club being allowed access to public funds in order for it to be the driver for the private and public sector to prosper - and at our expense.

A bog standard stadium barely 10,000 more than Goodson holds is just leaving us with a Riverside type facility. It wont be iconic and it wont be imposing and it wont push us forward.

Time for the club to be called out on this and be forced to think again or scrap the idea and look elsewhere. These are massive stakes, and their ham-fisted attempts to get some momentum behind a stadium of that ilk is a disgrace and so are the belters who are using the local press and social media to help the carpet baggers out. Shame on them.

It’s going to be interesting to see the type of fan that gets invited to these workshops with Dan Meis. I’m sure some research is going into carefully cherrypicking the fans they feel will fall in line with the club’s views on moving to BMD.

Hand picked mate, and any critics who do get through will be marginalised and ignored.

Those workshop events need to be by-passed IMO. You'll get no joy from that.

The club have to be served a massive shot across the bow by fans flooding them with objections.

A false democracy. It’s a pity that we only have the gutless ‘journalists’ at the Echo as a mouthpiece. Be a different story if it was Liverpool.

I’d cut capacity down to 20,000. Stop FIFA fan boys and people who whinge that our stadium isn’t gonna be big enough from getting in.
We don’t get 60k fans, it’s unlikely we ever will. Much better to have a boss location than to be able to brag to your City supporting pals about attendance figures

We’ve had a number of attendances in the excess of 75,000 at Goodison Park. But ok.

yeah in the 1940's and 50's when there was nothing else to do, in 1985 when we won the league with probably the best team in our history we only had 2 attendances in the league of over 50k, the derby and the qpr game when we won the league, and if i remember rightly we got presented with the league championship trophy the following Wednesday night against West Ham with barely 31,000 in the ground. realistically that is where we are in terms of attendances, and before i finish ask yourself this, How many times would we have sold over 50,000 seats this season?

Why should any fans get a say in the design anyway? I know I'd be pissed off if I was a well respected architect at the top of my field and was being told what it has to look like from some randoms who feel like they need to be heard. It would end up like the car that Homer Simpson designs.

Dan Meis is clearly doing/done research, he did this by attending games, getting to know the area, the history and speaking to people. He's not gonna be significantly swayed in his design by someone telling him how many seats it's needs to have or some amateur designer vaguely telling him it needs to be iconic.

As for the capacity, I don't think some of you seem to realise how many people 10,000 actually is. As I've said before, it is currently just over 1/4 of our current total capacity. Its a lot. Its the equivalent of either the entire Gwladys street or Bullens Road being empty, or twice the amount of people in the park end. And we are saying we need double that on top of what we have? The ground would be empty every other week.

But at least we'd be guaranteed to get all the FA Cup Semi finals or England International games aye....

Oh wait...
