New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

Google - Man City ticketing transfer news. Manchester Evening News. Hundreds not renewing ST's and 1000' of empty seats last 3 games. Premier lge going to make it more difficult to transfer tickets. Utd have a limit in place already.
There's an angry thread on this forum.

I didn't sit down once in about 15 years in the all seated Lower Gwladys and neither did anyone around us. In the Lower South safe standing with roughly the same viewpoint theres loads sitting down, crying that they can't see and asking people not to swear. Its horrible.

People in the lower south stand which is safe standing are telling you to sit down? And be absolutely fuming and tell them to f off, it's safe standing, if they want to sit down then pick anywhere else in the stadium. That's annoyed me that.

Not sure if this has been posted but I thought it was beautifully worded and a great perspective.

Why are the premier League doing this?
It's defacto ID cards for football, under another guise. Exactly what Colin Moynihan wanted to introduce under Thatcher after Heysel and other incidents in the 1980s.

They'll say it's to prevent touting. Yet away fans can and do buy tickets sold to Seat Unique. And this under a Government that claims it is all about supporters with its Football Governance Act of 2025.

In a perfect storm, you factor in the new stadium, and new owners who are "all about the revenue", add in a dose of p*ss poor football under Moyes, a global cost of living crisis, with all of the access / weather issues in the last few pages, and it's very easy to see why people are saying I've had enough. It's been headed that way since the PL was created. Instead of making more money for club owners (er, to invest in the club), it's made for more and more outrageous salaries for players and fees for agents.

It's not hard to see why some fans, particularly those of a certain vintage who remember what the essence of a Saturday 3pm Matchday used to be about, are saying "spew this".

Goodison is just a venue, like the new place is. The fans make the atmosphere. Goodison was crap, but it was the last bit of resistance against modern football and all the things we hate. There were no regulations, no inclusivity, no mod-cons or refinements. But even the atmosphere there was dying, just like it is at every other stadium in the country.

Modern football seems intent on killing all the aspects of the sport that brought the passion and excitement in the first place. It will only get worse.

Where does the motivation come from to write that? It's not really an issue. There must be a tiny fraction of Everton supporters who denigrate Goodison in order to amplify their support for the new stadium.

Bit of a straw man argument that. 🤷‍♂️

Twitter and even this site is full of beauts doing exactly that.

I love Bramley Moore. Love the docklands around it. The views and angles inside the ground are incredible. I’m starting to get a new routine (although the KO times have made that difficult), and I’m lucky that the group around me (in upper North) are sound - have a shout, have a sing, all friendly, a much better crew than I was by in Goodison.

My routine now involves getting in the ground half an hour earlier than I did at Goodison, but that’s fine.

Getting away is a bit of a pain, for sure. I walk back to town, which is fine for me, but for those who would struggle with that walk, the club and the council need to sort out the transportation, or else those people will stop renewing. It’s added an hour to my match day, which won’t be for everyone.

Much is said about the atmosphere, but there’s been a couple of games where it’s been great, and we haven’t yet had a game where the atmosphere will light up - a “0-2 down at half time, and score a winner in injury time” game. It will happen.

I also loved Goodison, but let’s not kid ourselves that it was a fiery, bear pit every week. It was silent and miserable 70% of the time. We remember the derby wins, or the 3-2s against Palace, but they were few and far between.

Once the new ground has a decade of games in it’s pocket, and some of those 3-2-type memories in its history, we won’t look back.

Not sure how many ST's there actually are at present but AFAIA the PL caps it at 80% of capacity.
so at goodison we were at the limit which was around 31,800

i and many others seemed to move up around 3000 places in the waiting list, obviously some won’t have renewed but youd assume that was minimal given the new stadium

so looking at around 35,000 you would imagine, unless theres more for hospitality and the like

42,420 is the max season ticket holders we could have based on the 80% capacity rule (basing this on a capacity of 52,800)

i imagine they will have wanted to keep season tickets lower and have more walk ups, but they might look at the last few games, and less people entering ballot (i get emails every time reminding me to enter) and decide to up the amount of season ticket holders. probably not to the 80% mark, but hopefully a good few more
