New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

I didn't sit down once in about 15 years in the all seated Lower Gwladys and neither did anyone around us. In the Lower South safe standing with roughly the same viewpoint theres loads sitting down, crying that they can't see and asking people not to swear. Its horrible.
No I get that, my point is that those people were still going and doing that at Goodison, they just weren't sat by you.

Don't care what excuses anyone is giving....its ALL down to how crap we are playing at home, that's it.

It happened at Goodison too, but that was still easier to get to and everyone had a set routine they had done for decades.

Nobody cares about the weather or trains if we win that game, and are sat 5th.
Well it's not ALL down to it, for the reasons you state yourself.

Poor weather + midweek game + TV coverage + disappointing recent form = low attendance
Poor weather + midweek game + TV coverage + excellent recent form = higher attendance
Great weather + saturday 3pm + disappointing recent form = higher again
Great weather + saturday 3pm + excellent recent form = highest crowd

All of the factors are at play, but obviously the worse we are on the pitch the less inclination people have to make an effort to go to watch.

Or those STHs simply couldn't be sold by the club via resale!
Doesn't help when the club reduce the timeline between allowing the seat to go up on resale and the actual day of the match. Appears to be happening more and more.
Take Burnley for example, currently there's no button(s) available to put the seat up for resale or forward to a person in their network. Yet it's less than 3 weeks away, and despite notifying the club start of this week. They wanted to get the Bournemouth game out the way first.
This isn't solely on STHs just not bothered to do anything with their seat, this is on the club.
Most likely no appetite from fans, since resale doesn't happen unless most seats go during ballot or general sale. Resale window is dictated by the club

Edit: still no button. Just looked at the ticket availability map...peppered all over the shop. As per usual massive blocks of seats upper tiers, including family stand.
Can't see resale happening anytime soon. Me dad be well happy as he's already booked hotel and train, but I can't transfer me ticket.
Anyone thinking of putting their Burnley ticket on the resale site, be warned there are already thousands of tickets available from the club - including almost the whole of block 231. Anyone know why this would be? Is that the block Seat Unique normally have, in which case have they returned them all to the club? Or does this happen at the start of all the resale windows?

Anyway, as it stands, this should be the emptiest game of the season. Mid week against a "small" club, looks like they're going to struggle to shift tickets.

Nah, they are excuses people use. When we are winning, these magically go away, and everyone wants a spare ticket.

They only get rolled out when we lose.

I wonder if the club will decide to release more season tickets next season? Clearly, they can't sell them on a match-by-match basis, so they'd be better off having more season ticket holders so even if they don't turn up for some of the games, the club still gets the money. I know there's a maximum clubs are allowed to issue, but I'm not sure if we've got to that point. The usual thinking is that the one-off fan spends more money at the ground, but if you're not getting many one-off fans, it's a loss not a gain.

I mean, if they're claiming there was over 50,000 at the Bournemouth game, then they're clearing counting all the empty season-ticket seats.

I'm confused as to what you're actually talking about? You seem to be agreeing with what i'm saying, but framing it as a disagreement? If we were top of the league then less people would be put off by the weather, as I said. That doesn't mean that the weather isn't a factor though, obviously.

At the end of the day. It's a football pitch, the same as any other. The south stand was built purposely for our more fervent supporters. Why would the fans who wanted a more sedate experience at the match want a season ticket for there. Go and sit somewhere else. It should be full of Street enders and Park enders who want to shout, stand and swear all game and make it hostile and intimidating for the opposition. That's why it was based on the yellow wall. FFS.

I'm not sure it'll get to the point of being able to put the ticket up for resale

Well same, you posted to disagree....then your points agreed with me..

Nope...

You're saying it's ALL down to how we're performing on the pitch. I'm saying no it isn't. How we're performing on the pitch is a factor, but the kick off times and weather will also be a factor. I used to travel up from London for every game when I lived down there, if I was still there now that would effectively have meant me taking 5 days off work in the first 10 weeks of this year just to go and watch Everton, because of the number of midweek night games. We could be playing like Brazil 1970 every week and it would still be extremely difficult to justify doing that. For fans who are elderly/disabled etc, a 15/30 minute walk in freezing temperatures and torrential rain is a big consideration when deciding whether to go to a game, regardless of how well the team is playing. This is all pretty simple stuff for anyone who wants to put more than 2 seconds into thinking about it to be honest.

Playing at night makes a big difference too, getting up for work, getting to the match after work for some is difficult, especially if you don't drive. Kids have season tickets to, School day next day. It still helps if you're winning now and again as well.

I used to make about 14/15 of the home games, coming up from London, and the ones I missed went to a couple of mates in Liverpool, using my physical ticket. This season I'll be surprised if I get to half the games, and my seat has been empty I think three times so far. Combination - in this order - of midweek night games, dull football, bad weather, ground even harder to get to than Goodison, and more of our games being on the TV. And my seat has been empty because I can't just leave my ticket for someone to use, so they have to be members and can't just make a last minute decision to go.

Transfer of tickets reportedly to get more difficult directed by the Premier Lge added with extortionate ticket prices is causing mayhem with many ST holders at Man City, giving up their tickets and not renewing. Last 3 games have seen thousands of empty seats.
