New Everton Stadium - Hill Dickinson Stadium

They did actually put it up on the screens, they just didn't announce it over the speakers. I can't remember the exact figure, somewhere around 50,200? I remember thinking when I saw it that it was around 2500 under capacity. Obviously a fair chunk of those empty seats was the visitors section.
Really that much, would have easily said well under 48,000. Would not surprise me they included season tickets holder who simply did not turn up and did nothing with there seats. Loads of empty season ticket seats not filled round me.

Interesting to hear from those that originally wanted a 60,000 stadium.

Based on the season so far, the current capacity seems more than enough.

Having said that, the attendance will have been adversely impacted by the number of non Saturday games and the mediocre home performances.
It's hard to tell really as this time of year is often right for a lot of people and we've ended up being stuck with this run of night matches which are harder for people to get to

Agreed.

And the resale ticket prices are beyond a joke.
My season ticket (block 210) works out at about £40 per game.
It was £70 on the official resale platform.
If Everton continue with this strategy, there are going to be a lot of empty seats because night games are difficult to get to (as you note above).

Or those STHs simply couldn't be sold by the club via resale!
Doesn't help when the club reduce the timeline between allowing the seat to go up on resale and the actual day of the match. Appears to be happening more and more.
Take Burnley for example, currently there's no button(s) available to put the seat up for resale or forward to a person in their network. Yet it's less than 3 weeks away, and despite notifying the club start of this week. They wanted to get the Bournemouth game out the way first.
This isn't solely on STHs just not bothered to do anything with their seat, this is on the club.
Most likely no appetite from fans, since resale doesn't happen unless most seats go during ballot or general sale. Resale window is dictated by the club

Edit: still no button. Just looked at the ticket availability map...peppered all over the shop. As per usual massive blocks of seats upper tiers, including family stand.
Can't see resale happening anytime soon. Me dad be well happy as he's already booked hotel and train, but I can't transfer me ticket.

We noticed that, easily talking 4 to 5 thousand empty seats I thought, I feel it's becoming a drag already travelling by train there and back, the weather, night games all the time it seems and finally the turgid football doesn't help. We have several really good players to watch and some players that never seem to play, Rohl, Alcaraz, would like to see attacking fullbacks because we look more balanced, Jake has been found out at fullback, I'd like to see Aznou given a go now that Branthwaite is back and we are definitely missing Grealish. Would be nice to actually see some home wins now and again or am I being a bit selfish ? Maybe then if we had something to shout about the ground may fill up again.

The fan behaviour at the new ground is a million miles off Goodison, and not in a good way. Its sad.
Those fans have always been there, it's probably more that people have ended up moving to different areas where the mix of people is different. I remember arguing with other fans at the United FA Cup semi about 10 years ago because some of us kept standing (not permanently, although I would have liked to personally, just getting up when we were looking dangerous etc) and a few people kept moaning at us to sit down. I can't get my head round going to watch Everton at Wembley and treating it as if you're watching a film at the cinema or going to the opera, but some people were determined that they were just going to remain seated throughout and everybody else had to do the same.

It's really not. We hardly won matches at Goodison in its last few seasons.

The building does not stop Barry putting away easy chances to win the game. Ultimately we need to buy better players and Moyes needs to find full backs that are comfortable on the ball.
Youth team broke the jinx last night so it's all good now. Bring on City Chelsea and the RS.

New Everton - a side that competes with the Sky Six, is ambitious, attracts a top manager and players, does its transfer business quickly and decisively, and plays entertaining football - needs a 60,000 stadium. The current Make Do And Mend Everton, with Mykolenko, no right back, no strikers, and a reactive Moyesiah who can't set the side up for home matches, doesn't need more than 50.

I wanted a 60,000 stadium. I got David Moyes. It was always too big for him.

We've been garbage for years so doesnt make any difference if Moyes was in charge or not.

I didn't sit down once in about 15 years in the all seated Lower Gwladys and neither did anyone around us. In the Lower South safe standing with roughly the same viewpoint theres loads sitting down, crying that they can't see and asking people not to swear. Its horrible.
