Naismith v Chelski

Yes he's not the best technical footballer the world has ever seen, but he is a very good finisher and not too bad in the air. He will score goals running from deep. Never a winger in a million years.

he gave the ball away abouit 95% of the time - he is so slow not just his legs but his decision making. Tidy finish though.

BUT, he encourages good football i.e. we cannot lump it up to him, and he has a poacher's touch. I have a feeling he will pop up in big games too, just how Dirk Kuyt was always a bit gash, but managed to score against big teams, somehow? it just baffles me, when people say we should sell for £2mil, when that might buy us another van der meyde....

Fair point. There is so much negativity around him, lets hope he has a productive pre season and can offer something from the bench next season.

Don't know how to quote, but this is the bit that gets me. Why does every player have to start or be sold? They don't... Oh, and he was the last player to score a hat-trick for us.

He fell over like as he normally does but others did also.
It took him 20secs in the game to fall over, I made a note of that.

He started behind Anichebe but ended up out wide which I didn't understand.

I know he played in SPL but I think he would be OK if he played there all the time. Also, fans booeing him when he comes on will not help him. Yet fans cheer when Jelavic comes on.

As I've said before he cant be judged properly until he's played in his proper position, chances are he's not going to set the place alight but at least wait until he plays there before slating him, similar situation to coleman last year when a lot on here would have been happy to see him leave the club

Was he playing his natural position on sunday?

Not sure about that, for his size he's a good leaper. And they do lump it to him on the right side.

His first touch is dreadful and he's an overly central player. I don't think he has the ability to penetrate outside nor the vision to be a decent passer of the ball. He's a bench player.

i wasn't there but apparently he started behind the striker but ended up out wide again, wont miss those tactical moves next season

I watched the whole game on Fox. He was playing in the second striker/no.10 position and he did a fairly good job overall. Took his goal extremely well, showing a lot of composure as Cech came steaming out at him. Yes he did fall over a couple of times, but so did several others - I would guess Chelsea watered the pitch and wore longer studs, catching our lot unawares. He did hit a couple of poor passes but I don't think his first touch is as poor as some would make out - it certainly wasn't bad for the goal.

He is more effective when played centrally, but we look generally better when Felli plays CM instead of 10 - I wouldn't like to say whether I prefer Barkley or Naismith at 10.

Next season with new manager I'll wait and see, but I know that if we had to have another game this coming weekend I would 100% want Naismith in ahead of Jelavic
He's still terrible though

Was a vast improvement on the Naismith we've seen in other games. And he did take his goal very well.

That being said, he was still awful. It was obvious that the pitch was very slick, but he did fall over more than most. Playing him out wide later on didn't help matters, as he is completely and utterly useless out wide.
