He had his respect at the end of last season. All the while, he was being paid handsomely whilst also beginning his new job.

He the spent the summer making everyone aware that Everton were a step beneath him and his new club and oh, weren't we terrible for not letting Leighton and Marouane "further their careers"

Well now he's being found out that he's out of his depth, the pressure is much greater than he thought, all the while, his former club are going from strength to strength.

He can [Poor language removed] off.

this.

every word of it

It's all semantics isn't it and how you choose to interpret his comments. I mean, you're suggesting Moyes has intimated Everton was a 'disastrous career move' for him and that's just ridiculous. Personally I don't find what he said offensive, other people did, fair enough.

The main thing is we've started the season really well and given ourselves a chance of achieving something. As you've said we're moving in the right direction and credit to Martinez for that.

Sorry, but you misunderstand my point. Moyes stated that, if he were now in charge at Everton, he would never 'hold back' players' careers (ie; by refusing to let Felli & Bainsey move to MUFC) which directly suggests Everton is an inferior place for a player's career. I chose to invoke the Mrs Merton/Debbie McGee question, comparing Moyes's highly-remunerated 11 year stint at Goodison with the question to McGee about what attracted her to bald, diminutive multi-millionaire Paul Daniels. But there's no semantics in the interpretation of what Moyes said about us holding players back. It was clear and unequivocal.

Started to lose respect for him when he was the Everton manager. After the surrender at Anfield (3-0) to be followed by the second half at Wembley I couldnt wait for him to be gone and saw him as a coward. I was one of few Evertonians who wasnt optimistic with the start to his last season because I knew with his management it would come eventually come to nothing. Same goes for the cup run last year. As has been mentioned his contract talks were basically lies and he had no intention of seeing "were we where".

Has he actually said "Everton fans will regret Wednesday?"

I think we know what he has said since leaving Everton and it just strikes me as disgraceful and lacking respect.

So in that case he can smeg off the ginger rat.

It's all been said in here, actually Jocks response probably said it all. I do wonder what must now be going through his head after being taken apart by Roberto and seen what was mostly his old side play in a swashbuckling and confident manner to crush his now ex champions.

Gave him a standing ovation when he left despite never really liking him as a man, lost all respect for his 'achievements' here now due to him being an absolute [Poor language removed] since leaving.

"I'll see where we are after Christmas before I sign a new deal" - Moyes, Nov 2012

"I'll see where we are in March before signing a new deal" - Moyes, Jan 2013

"I'll see where we are at the end of the season before signing a new deal" - Moyes, March 2013

"I only knew about the Utd job 4 weeks before I took it" - Moyes, said several times, most recently 2 days ago.

"I met David at my house at Christmas 2012 and told him 'You're my successor, you're the next Man Utd manager" - Alex Ferguson in his book.

Lies, lies, lies.

Then the ridiculous bids, the 'Everton shouldn't be holding back the careers of Fellaini & Baines' quote, the 'I know how Everton works'; 'I always told the players they didn't need a manager'; 'I signed most of the players', 'He's doing a good job carrying it on...' quotes.

Pretty much all of that, Bally.

The media fails to realise, he wasn't just booed because he left and because he made **** bids. It's his whole demeanour and the lies he told (and still tells), and the fact he left without us getting any compensation for him, from one of the richest clubs in world football.

This 100% I was a Moyes fan but now the disrespect he has shown to not only the club but fans he deserves all he gets.

In a nutshell!

I was non-plussed with him for about the last 3 years, after the cup-final.

He was one of the highest-paid managers in the world, and his ambition seemed to stretch to securing 7th.

Still have a lot of respect for what he did for us in the formative years, but that didn't mean that it was right for him to milk us year after year.

For all his reputation about being hard working and molding a fighting team, there were still WAY too many performances that were as disjointed and abysmal as anything we did in the darkest of days under previous managers, but somehow it was always the players who got blamed for those and not the manager.

By who? The fans? Moyes was regularly slated for years when things weren't going well.

Or do you mean by Moyes himself? If you can find me more than a couple of ambiguous quotes over his eleven years where he shifts blame from himself onto his players I'd be interested to read them.

Shocking shout that mate.

Moyes deserves stick for a few things over the last year but some of the revisionism going on is mad Kopite behaviour.

We've always been at war with Eastasia, lads.

I mean the Press's wide-held view that Everton was consistently punching above our weight, and that can only be down to the astuteness of its manager, so all the good performances he got the credit for.. "Moyes is a genius, nobody else could do what he with no resources etc" but when we put in shocking displays, everyone just shrugged and said, "well, he's got nothing to work with, what did you expect."

His relative lack of resources did protect him from some flak over the years, but not without good reason much of the time.

Plenty of Everton players were held in high regard by the press and opposition fans alike during Moyes' tenure. Fellaini could hardly walk straight with how hard he was being bummed this time last year.

Just seen his friday press conference on SSN - now theres a man looking as though he's under a bit of pressure! What a difference to Roberto earlier, laughing, joking and talking his team up!!
