MOYES'S DISGUST

his miserableness in post match interviews when he was manager of everton, this definitely translated to the players

Have to say I have never been so keen to watch pre/post match conferences as I am now, Roberto comes across so well and it makes you realise just how negative Moyes was, it's not just an attitude shift amongst the players he has instilled but he is slowly changing the mindset of the fans as well.

I expect to be posting here again in 3/4 months frothing at the mouth when we've had a poor run of results and Bob is still chirpy in his conferences.

It's going to end in a fireball at Old Trafford, and his humility will have to return. I'll start to like him again then.

:o

easy to confuse this with his big red fuzzy wig mate, but I really don't think we can accuse him of potential arson

He had his respect at the end of last season. All the while, he was being paid handsomely whilst also beginning his new job.

He the spent the summer making everyone aware that Everton were a step beneath him and his new club and oh, weren't we terrible for not letting Leighton and Marouane "further their careers"
Well now he's being found out that he's out of his depth, the pressure is much greater than he thought, all the while, his former club are going from strength to strength.

He can [Poor language removed] off.

This.....yet he thought Mark Hughes behaviour over Lescott was disgusting.

Still like and respect him for what he did for Everton.

Having said that I haven't got a problem with anyone else giving him barrels of abuse, that's football.

No, mate, you miss the point. I could accept him coming back for players. I accept his job now is Man Ure, not EFC. But, he put the Fellaini buy-out clause in the contract, yet insulted us with an arrogant bid for Felli and Baines. To add insult to injury, he then used the press to try to lure the players into making transfer requests, which is exactly what so angered the egotistical hypocrite when Mark Hughes did it for Lescott.

Then he comes out with patronising comments about Roberto needing to learn about how Everton 'works' along with guff about holding back players' careers, FFS. (So, Mr Moyes, if Everton is such a disaster for a career, why did you waste 11 years of yours as our best-paid employee...?!) It also became plain that he and SAF had agreed their cosy little hand-pver way before Moyes previously led us to believe. (A reason why our season fizzled out somewhat last year?) But, we gave him a rousing farewell at Goodison.

But, he tarnished the legacy, didn't he? He crapped on the goodwill of even fervent admirers. Even the classless, half-wit red-top journos sussed that. Finally, in the run-up to Wednesday's game, he made further small-minded remarks about Everton and Roberto, even taking credit for how we're doing this season. Sorry, Moyes has shown himself up here. I'm sure some of it is the pressure getting to him, but the incorrigible control freak needs to put his ego back in his arse pocket.... especially now Roberto's boys handed him his arse on a plate. 'koff Gollum. Get over yourself....we have. COYB!!!!

"He has very good players there. I always told them they could play without a manager because they are very well organised.

In other words, Martinez is doing **** all, i built that team overthere and i deserve the credit

f****d us right up with the contract businesses played us for a fool he knew he was off
, for one we gave him a great send of when he left then to be thrown in our face
taking felli of us /bidding for baines etc, what now its looking good

would most managers turn man u down ? no tbh but most wouldn't
be little a club in the way moyes has done. if it weren't for everton in the first place
giving him the chance he wouldn't be there now.

Does he deserve respect ? 50/50 but if hes expecting us to go there and be full of praise he's mad
we've moved on playing good sexy football with Martinez and that's all that matters coyfb

It's all semantics isn't it and how you choose to interpret his comments. I mean, you're suggesting Moyes has intimated Everton was a 'disastrous career move' for him and that's just ridiculous. Personally I don't find what he said offensive, other people did, fair enough.

The main thing is we've started the season really well and given ourselves a chance of achieving something. As you've said we're moving in the right direction and credit to Martinez for that.

In other words, Martinez is doing **** all, i built that team overthere and i deserve the credit

Or he's downplaying the part he played whilst manager.

As I said previously, it's how you choose to interpret the comments.

He stayed too long and, looking back, it was obvious he was just passing time while waiting for Fergie to retire. OK, that's an exagerration, he probably still cared, but not enough.

I can put up with the transfer stuff, that's just part of how football is, but it's obvious that he didn't believe in his players enough while he was here, which has held us back. He gave us 8 or 9 years good service though, for which I'm grateful, but he's gone now and I happily joined in the "David Moyes is full of sh^t" chants because that too, is part of football.

He's a good manager, but he's not an Evertonian. Compare him to the likes of Catterick, Kendall and ( though he wasn't successful as a manager ) Harvey. There's no comparison.

"I'll see where we are after Christmas before I sign a new deal" - Moyes, Nov 2012

"I'll see where we are in March before signing a new deal" - Moyes, Jan 2013

"I'll see where we are at the end of the season before signing a new deal" - Moyes, March 2013

"I only knew about the Utd job 4 weeks before I took it" - Moyes, said several times, most recently 2 days ago.

"I met David at my house at Christmas 2012 and told him 'You're my successor, you're the next Man Utd manager" - Alex Ferguson in his book.

Lies, lies, lies.

Then the ridiculous bids, the 'Everton shouldn't be holding back the careers of Fellaini & Baines' quote, the 'I know how Everton works'; 'I always told the players they didn't need a manager'; 'I signed most of the players', 'He's doing a good job carrying it on...' quotes.

Pretty much all of that, Bally.

The media fails to realise, he wasn't just booed because he left and because he made **** bids. It's his whole demeanour and the lies he told (and still tells), and the fact he left without us getting any compensation for him, from one of the richest clubs in world football.

/thread

Moyes plays a particular brand of football which would suit a club aiming for stability and safety. That's his limit though, I can't see him last the season.

My opinions of his managerial ability pretty much solidified in the 2009 FA Cup final against Chelsea. From that point on it always felt like there was a limit to where he could take a team, and he used the Lescott cash we received a few months later very poorly. Between his start and the end of 08-09 season we saw a constant steady improvement, which never really continued afterwards.

I stopped trusting him a year before he left, when he made it very clear whilst working as a Euro Championship pundit (I think?) on TV that he would ditch us in a second if the Spurs job was offered to him.

I lost the respect around January last season. We didn't push on when we found ourselves in a great position. I think the failure to reach at least the Europa league was down to him. I wanted him gone.

What put the nail in the coffin was the fact he wasn't willing to help Everton once he had gone. He more than anyone knew if we were to sell a player we needed a good fee. Instead he played on this in a negative respect for Everton and a positive respect for United. He knew the financial position and he wanted to play on it. Essentially trying his best to ruin the club.

21st September 2010, when Brentford knocked us out of the cup.

The Lisbon surrender the season previous planted the seed of doubt, that game confirmed all I needed to know about the man.

I still love him and hope he does well at Man U. I also hope our reaction to him gets less hostile as time goes on. One night of schadenfreude is fair enough after some of his bang on comments this year, but he's still an important part of our recent history. Probably the most important Evertonian since Joe Royle left in 1997.

I'll never understand the pro-Rooney blues, but I think I'll always be a pro-Moyes blue.
