Moyes still looking to do some business

cant see us getting anyone else, 4.5m on pienaar, 6m for Mirallas....so i cant see were the money is coming from seen as we already spent the Rodwell money.... it was known fact that moyes would HAVE to sell to buy.....so unless were expecting another departure i cant see any other arrivals...this transfer window

Better to buy quality than quantity IMO. We have the likes of Barkley, Duffy, Francisco, Velios and McAleny who are all capable of stepping in should the need arise....and thats after the nearly-men like Coleman, Anichebe etc have been drafted in.

A smallish squad is better IMO....no ego's and no teddy-throwing because of pointless rotation. We're definitely one of the fitter teams around, and to be fair those who have gone including Rodwell, Tim Cahill, NcFadden, Denis and Royston had literally become bench warmers or injury-prone last season.

We are in better shape now....no doubt about it, and Landon likely to come permanent in January. I'd like to see a creative midfielder but not sure who....that would suffice.

Slap on the wrist by Bill, promise of a new contract, Moyes is happy to "go with what we've got".

Make no mistake about it, even with a great start to the season if it turns out to be the case, two or three injuries could seriously derail our ambitions this season. Is Moyes happy to take the risk, knowing that almost every season without fail we have a injury-ravaged month or two?

Spot on.

Is it fact or is that speculation mate? How have we spent the Rodwell money up?
1. Nobody knows the actual price of the Rodwell sale.
2. Nobody knows how much money we have at our disposal.
3. We aren't the type of club to spend money ahead of schedule. Pienaar was bought before the agreement officially of the Rodwell sale, we wouldn't have hedged our bets on it going through.

I bet billy bull**** will be rubbing his hands when he doesn't spend the extra 6m from Rodwell.

The masses are happy with a win against united, a new player in mirrallis all is hunky dory and the bank managers happy.

Rodwells incentive bonuses will cover bills interest payments on all the debt he's accrued.

Massively speculative isn't it?^^^^^
By all means give him a hard time if it happens, not in anticipation of it happening though.

Ye Agreed, a playmaker and a centre forward would be ace! Don't think we need another filler in midfield we have plenty of people who can do that, we need someone who can take some of the burden off peanuts to come inside and take the ball on. I'm thinking someone like Ossie but with more physical presence.

No need to diss Moyes like that imo.

He's had to "go with what he's got" in previous seasons as he's had nothing to spend.

This window he has & he's definitely trying to spend it, give the bloke a break.

I agree with you fella, at least this season Moyes is trying to sign more attacking players - as requested by almost every fan.

Regarding the midfield players, there is still a chance he will bring someone in plus there is the possiblility of Donovan, Cahill or even both joining in January on loans. Mirallas and Naismith can both cover midfield too so I personally would like to see him spend on another top quality striker like Jelle Vossen who has a great scoring ratio and is young and Belgian so should settle in quite easily.

The transfer window hasn't even passed yet, why are some people having a go at the board\Moyes for not buying anyone else??

People don't have any patience any more they just expect stuff 'NOW' and throw their toys out the pram if they don't get it.

Even if we don't buy anyone else the team is better than last year and we've bought in some players, which is better than usual.

I think people should stick to having a go at the board for stuff they have actually done, like not having sold the club, overpricing it, messing up the new stadium, etc. At least wait until the window closes before you start complaining.

Cahill and Yobo would have most likely paid for Pienaar. Also, with regards to Mirallas, it will be an upfront fee, so money will still be available. Transfers today are rare to be the full amount upfront.

Spot on mate.

We can only judge the success or otherwise of this window, when it shuts - it really is that simple.
