Moyes or The Board?

During Moyes's reign I was always very skeptical at how good he was. Don't get me wrong, he has been pushing Everton above our weight - but many teams are doing that not just us.

However he always took ages to sign someone in the window, and missed out on major transfer targets. Always saying "I'm looking for the right player" yada yada.

But now he's at Manchester United, he's saying the exact same thing and they're one of the richest clubs who could probably afford anyone they want.

2 weeks in the window and Martinez has signed 4 players - they're not world beaters, but our squad is looking much better.

So was Moyes just too slow? Or was it all to do with the board not giving him money until the last few weeks - as suggested in many other threads...

FFS, I can't believe it, there's another one. These 'I don't like Moyes threads' are like rabbits.

Is it not possible that highlighted bit was.. i dunno maybe.. because... well that's what he was doing?

Honestly who gives a flying how long it takes to make the right decision if the decision made is correct?

I'd rather we bought Coleman and Baines on the last day of a transfer window, than Henderson and Downing on the first day of the window wouldn't you?

Why does it matter?

This progress was done, not through spending big money, but because dithering Dave (who is not very good at transfers according to another I don't like Moyes thread) made mostly the right deals, regardless of how long it took.

You know what he's bought, yet you question whether Kenwright or Moyes is to blame? Blame? Like the above is a bad thing.

When will this end?

Look at those two tables and someone tell me how someone who is s**t at transfers, misses out on the best players through dithering, is tactically poor, bottles every game, no plan b, just plays hoof ball to strikers that he's ruined, doesn't play the right players in the right positions, just plays his favorites, can't motivate the team, lost the dressing room, is too defensive, makes the wrong subs at the wrong times and so and so on and so on and so on and on and tediously on... and explain how that change has happened? Please? anyone?

And to the poster who says he didn't have us punching above our weight, you're missing the obvious truth.
If we finish 8th, and everyone around us spends tens of millions, we lose a key player and get pennies to spend, not punching above our weight would be to only drop down a few positions, punching above our weight would be holding steady as those who spent big money just below us should really overtake us, instead we progress and finish say 7th, that's beyond punching above our weight, that's a tangible achievement worthy of a quality manager. Doing that regularly is nothing short of the quality that makes you a target for Manchester United.

If it wasn't so depressing these obsessive anti Moyes threads would be funny, no man is bigger than the club, get over him and concentrate on Martinez.

Steven-Naismith~2.jpg

Agreed like, he does.

Let's be fair, mate. No one could have foreseen how bad Naismith was.

And to be fair to Naismith, he did well the few times he played as a centre forward.

We will have to wait until the end of next season at least before we can really tell how Everton and Utd have fared under their new managers.

My own belief is that we will find that the famous " glass ceiling " talked about as a lack of money may well instead prove to be more to do with the caution of the manager.
I think Utd will disimprove under David Moyes and I hope that Everton will improve under RM, but at the moment it is just too early to form any real opinon on how he will do apart from his activity in the transfer market and so far that has been very positive.

FFS, I can't believe it, there's another one. These 'I don't like Moyes threads' are like rabbits.

You should follow your own advice and "get over" Moyes your own self..

You see the time you took to research those stats and type the post?

That is time you will never have back, sir.

Move on.....forget about Moyes.

He sure has forgotten about you.

My own view is that they are taking a bigger risk than we are.

And I have yet to meet the United fan whom is terribly happy with this appointment.

The only reason they haven't been too vociferous in their disdain is that their guru, Frguson, appointed Moyes himself.

Watch how quickly the OT mob will turn if things start sluggishly for them this season.

You could say the same about our mob if we have a bad start. We are a fickle bunch.

I have, show me the Pro Moyes threads that I have posted since he left? Show me the ones anyone has?
There are none because, as it seems with most of those that are not inexplicably blinded by hate for the man, we've moved on to trying to be excited by Martinez.

Sadly that's made difficult when every thread is hijacked by anti Moyes posts and every other thread is micro slating a tiny and insignificant part of Moyes tenure here..

Take this one for example.

See if it were me that couldn't let go, I'd keep making threads about him.. and you'd have a point, but I don't so your argument is not only the level of comeback that a 5 year old gives... 'no you do that'... but is actually completely incorrect and all evidence points to the contrary.

That research by the way, took all of 5 minutes to look up and all of 5 seconds for you to ignore, so well done to you.

Maybe I should just flood the forum with Pro Moyes threads to get the point across actually how annoying it is.

Here's a thought.

Happen you should just post about the team you purport to follow?

Failing that, buy a United shirt, have Moyes's name printed on the back and take your place at the "Theatre of Dreams" along with all the Songaporeans, Jocks, Dubliners, Londoners and people from Yorkshire who go there every other week.

Change the record......these are exciting times for EFC and the sooner boys like you give the new bloke a break the sooner you will foreget the man whom walked out on you.

Show me a post where I have been detrimental about Martinez? I think he's a good manager and these are good times.. This is what I'm telling you. Instead of filling the foum with hate... get with the excitement.
You're telling me to move on, in some kind of 'what you said back at you' movement, but in a thread designed to have a pop at Moyes which is exactly the sort of thing I am on about.

And anyone who thinks that because someone wants to move onto the new era and stop the endless 'I hate Moyes' threads, hould be a United fan, well pretty much covers themselves in the appropriate level of glory.

I think it is well known that Moyes likes to do a lot of research on his transfer targets. And now that he is at a new club, he will probably want to have a real good look at his new squad before jumping in and finding new players. Neither a good thing or a bad thing, it's just how he does it.

My god man I think you just about epitomise everything that's wrong with having Internet fourms. So blinded by your hate or lack of intelligence, that you can't see a decent well thought out reply coming from a different point of view.

So what do you do? Start with tho old "that's what you do" routine then hit them with the old "if you love him so much go support them" and follow that up with side of "you don't go the match". Not once have you tryed to have a discussion concerning your different ideas and come to a compromise or just an agree to diss agree. No just taunts and general chatting crap.

I presume that you have only ever known moyes as our manager so don't know what it is like to be fighting relagation every season. But let me tell you something if it was t for moyes we would of went down a long time ago of that am sure. So personally I think he deserves a bit more respect then the posters have been giving him in here lately.
