Moyes: No more money!

Wonder how long Moyes will be with us before he decideds he's had enough and cant do more for us without more cash. Just hope we can get a true Evertonian Billonaire to buy us out.

Theres a certain amount of currencey in being able to do it on shoe string for a manager, it adds to their value.

Look at Hughes and the oppurtunity he got at City after Blackburn, Alladyce at Newcastle when they had dosh and Hodgson after Fulham.

Personally im surprised he hasnt been offered an oppurtunity elsewhere with a bit of wonga - as far we know.

What are we two years into a five year contract. Has to be said as well Moyes i think get in and arounf 4-5 mill a year not that hes not worth it - but thats a large chunk of our turnover.

Similarily it may come down to the choice of offering players new bumper deals out of loyalaty which seems to be the case, rather then blowing it on padding out the squad.

Everton boss David Moyes said the cash strapped club are unlikely to sign any more new players before the end of the transfer window.

Speaking after Everton's 2-0 victory against new A-League franchise Melbourne Heart - the Blues second consecutive victory on their three-match pre-season tour of Australia - Moyes confirmed his transfer business is over.

He has brought in former Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford on a free, French youth international Magaye Gueye and Portugese striker Joao Silva.

"There's no cash to sign any more players for the club for the time being so it's unlikely we will be bringing in any more new faces before the new season starts in August," Moyes said.

"But I feel we've got enough firepower up-front now with Jermaine Beckford adding to the competition we have for places and also providing the back-up we needed after last season."

Moyes believes he now has a stronger squad that at any stage since his arrival at Goodison Park in 2002.

England youth international midfielder Jack Rodwell is another young player Moyes expects will lift Everton to new heights in the future.

"It is the strongest squad I've ever had and it's not a coincidence," Moyes explained.

"Young people in whatever field they are involved in should be given a chance and there are not enough homegrown players in the Premier League."

THat to me says there still players coming just non at the start of the season, once the season starts and money starts coming in again then we will more then likely buy someone. HE NEVER SAID WE WON'T SIGN ANYONE BEFORE THE WINDOW CLOSES

dreadful, i don't know what else to say.

Try taking in the fact that the UK is £5.2 TRILLION in debt and that £3billion of that is football debt.

Then it explains things. The fact the last ten years this countries been living in cloud cuckoo land. People thinking they can spend what they don't have.

Can't say I'm surprised by that admission but it is a sad state of affairs. A free transfer from the 2nd tier of English football, a kid from the 2nd tier of French football and a kid from the 2nd tier of Portuguese football. After that a club with apparent ambitions of qualifying for the Champions League says it's expended all of it's funds?
All of our players best be staying put now, keep hold of everyone in the squad and perhaps bring in Donovan on loan again and we'll really have a chance of thriving this year (with a bit of luck) but only under those circumstances.

This... althought I can't see Donovan being available on a loan deal again as he will likely take a high paying gig from City... frankly i don't blame him, he will never be able to command such a high price again in his career so you gotta jump on that.

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Buying a title is the easy way out, any mug can do that with funds. That is not the Moyes way he has shown he is shrewd, canny with money and it is starting to pay off. All we need is a bit of luck to stay injury free and I can see us challenging for silverware with this squad. We got to the FA cup final last year, one step further lads,,,,,please.

So we need to sell before we buy.

Who to let go of for a pretty penny and who to bring in?

Oh for an 8 million bid for Saha this summer.

i think a team like man citys way of buying players is ,so to speak ,'building a castle on sand' .
where as at everton this summer we have done a proper decent job of filling the gaps (a backup lb would be nice though ) and reinforcing from the bottom up .i think its less than 1.5 million spent on transfer fee's on 4 players.

but id like to think that a club like ours would every summer buy atleast 1 player better than we have already in an area (ie def , mid, fw) .

I meant the fact Moyes mentioned it, not the fact he has stated the obvious - which most of us are well aware of, including me.

I think its a ploy myself, no manager would come out with that comment unless somethings going on 'undercover' as you were.

Maybe its to kick the scent from Tottenham for a player or what?

Before Yakubu joined there was many newspaper articles linking him to Newcastle United and about a week before he signed for Everton Moyes came out with the exact same comments.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a big player leave and a even 'bigger' one come in myself.

So humanity was living in the Dark Ages until the turn of the 21st century? How can something widely regarded as immoral and aberrant suddenly become laudable and good? Social engineering, that's how.

Go away. Homosexuality has been rampant throughout history, often practiced by those who demonized it. Again, stop worrying about other people's lives and live your own.

Anymore comments are going to be met with infractions and suspensions. There is your fair warning.

nah - cant have that mate. money = success, would chelsea have won anything otherwise-NOPE. it would be a bit odd for man city to build slowly now

Money doesn't always equal success, you only have to look at the Barcodes, Pompey, Villa, West Ham and many others who have spent a hell of a lot more money than us but have not exactly had success.
