Yes Nige I supported us in the glory days of the 80's I wasnt quite old enough of the Mersey Millionaire era, what ever way you like it at before we had Moyes we had an ageing squad that was scrabbling around trying not to be relegated.

He got us 4th in the Premier league and yes we did have that big blip but the last few seasons has seen us stabilise and grow as a squad. We have an exciting team that is the best I have seen in the last 22 years. Name me a starting 11 that is better than what we have now since 1991?

Probably Joe's side that beat Spurs in the semi and won the cup but there lies the problem in a million years I couldn't see Moyes taking on 2 favourites like spurs then utd in semis and cup finals and pulling it round even if this side is better.

This op about his germany interest just reinforces he's bigger than the club, he''l decide what he wants to do (which is what he's doing) and it's wrong.

This fawning over him doesn't do anything but reinforce the position.

The 95 team was utter tosh, thats why they finished 15th.

Lets not re-write history.

It was a great Cup run that Year, but the team itself was badly Adam.

So beating your local rivals, United and then narrowly missing out in the final 2-1 to Chelsea isnt as impressive as Royles run? The final win aside.

Who would you have to replace him nige?

Giving up at certain games is unacceptable it seems churlish to add it obviously affects chances of CL qualification and cup success but there it is. The aping of Fergie and Wenger as though we had CL or were going for the league is a fkin nonsense considering the only thing we can possibly win are cups.

With respect your pro or neg view on our cup ambitions are neither here nor there the fact is in 10 yrs we haven't and moyes antics contribute.

Apathy supports all the above instead of saying fck this for a game of soldiers whats going on wheres the money going etc.
is your computer slowin btw, mine is
To be honest you have officially confused me be re-writing my post and now diverting your answers from that.. I am actually struggling to follow what your on annoyed with me about now so i'll just go with the above as its written because honestly I can't be arsed trying to work out what I originally wrote in comparison anymore.
Of course giving up at games is unacceptable.. why would it not be? Did I say it was okay? doubtfull.
Never said Moyes antics didn't contribute to not winning a cup, in fact I could quote myself saying the opposite, Moyes however is the reason we expect it to be more than just a distant pipe dream and that we are annoyed we havn't.
Apathy doesn't support the above.. in fact it supports nothing.. it is in fact apathetic to both good and bad, doesn't help either side. Its entirely impartial. If I go to the game and don't hate Moyes or the board.. nothing happens.. If I go there and hate both.. nothing happens.

And my computer is fine ta.

Now then..
Do you accept Moyes has had virtually no money
That he inherited a squad in constant relegation battles
That all around have had massive amounts of money to spend
That we are now european challengers?
Is this not progress? Is this not down to Moyes?
Therefore are we not within our rights to be more optimistic than the decade before?

That bad eh!

Well if this side are so much better it'll be open top bus time at the end of the season parading the fa cup, fantastic - wonder if Moyesie will be on holiday in Deutschland?

You agree with Benitez then?

I've said on another post we dumped expectation when Moyes arrived, stuff this club never entertained previously has set in with a generation just to exist in the division.

That is an absolute embarrassment of a post. We were at the point of just existing in this division when Moyes came we started challenging for Europe.

Behave.

imho i think the lad is trying to say that before moyes we tried to employ the best out there walker/smith both where big names then and we got them!

but moyes was the "****s just got real" appointment! if any evertonian told me that they was over the moon with his appiontment then i'd call them a lier!

but kenwright got lucky! moyes saved us yes i agree moyes saved us but now its the next step!

so i think the lad was just saying in a bit of a mad way that moyes WAS a step downwards!

Narrowly to chelsea!! - you're grinning there aren't you naughty scamp!

Mick I'd go for Martinez, I have to admit the cupboard is bare they all look a gang of shtes but I saw his stuff at Swansea first hand if he could do similar here it would be amazing. Only thing is he's gone backwards at wigan.

The best team doesnt always win the Cup.

Ask Wimbledon.

And Pompey.. And Brum... Oh no.. it will turn into the.. " at least were in the Prem Lge " thread now..

Goat & MickNick.. above comments spot on.. Our first team is excellent, and so we should actually expect something this season...
