Welcome to Barcelonaton FC
Backed his managers. Building a new stadium.
Proper mess.
Proper mess.
You should be very glad that Moshiri failed in his attempt to get Silva after the sacking of Koeman. The thought of Silva trying to sort out the mess left by Koeman is truly terrifying. He'd have taken us down.
...that’s an assumption, Dave. It’s not necessarilly fact to say Koeman determined ‘who it was spent on in the vast majority of cases’. My view is that Koeman and Walsh brought players in separately without any joined-up thinking or strategy. It’s why we ended up with so much waste and an unbalanced squad.
Moshiri’s culpability was appointing Walsh and Koeman, but not with backing them. Saying that, Walsh should’ve gone when it became obvious he wasn’t up to the job.
It's inconceivable that anyone other than Koeman could have chosen Klaassen, Sigurdsson, Pickford, Keane, Williams, Bolasie, Schneiderlin given that he expressed his interest and intent to get them in. Vlasic, Lookman, Ramirez = Walsh signings....that’s an assumption, Dave. It’s not necessarilly fact to say Koeman determined ‘who it was spent on in the vast majority of cases’. That has a teary boys pen bill all over it and no mistake

His biggest mistake was allowing Kenwright to have any influence over the club whatsoever.

Koeman almost killed Everton. I know that much. He's put us back a decade in development. It was well documented that Koeman wanted Klaassen, but also that there was a "double stamp" system whereby manager and DOF had to approve each transfer. Ultimately, both are equally repsonsible for all of those signings as they are the two people put in a position of responsibility to spend the money and improve the squad.
Dave, I agree with a lot of your sentiments, but when you hold a grudge, you spin the narrative to fit your agenda. Koeman was disastrous for our club, but not to hold Walsh to the same degree of culpability where player recruitment is concerned is just strange.

No. Never in a month of sundays. That's just handing some unearned excuse for Koeman and Moshiri. Together those two imbeciles squandered £250M of the club's money. I;d throw them in jail if I could. And Walsh is just as responsible.

Agree on this, but on the pitch Silva is also takings us backwards, only the good work of Brands gives us hope.Koeman almost killed Everton. I know that much. He's put us back a decade in development.
