Before Rooney actually signed Koeman stated - yes he could work with Rooney...seems to me this was like saying I can live with it if I have too but it wouldnt be my first choice.

If he had played some damn football in the last dozen games instead of making a rod for his own back (deliberately, “sack me then”) we might have been more forgiving.
