Moshiri on Jim White show on TalkSport today....

The whole Jim White being so well connected thing is a mystery to me. He must be either a million miles away from the cretinous idiot I listen to on TS in real life, or the accepted face of Sky to the club owners. Like you want our Billions, then lob White a bone.
I don't listen to talk sport any more but I just cannot make the connection between a parody figure like transfer deadline day Jim and a successful businessman.

There's something weird about it and I don't trust it one bit.

In the weird world of Skytastic Sky, I think after 20 years of promoting the PL as the best thing ever in the history of everything, "Red Sunday" being the latest in a long line of poop, I honestly believe that White actually thinks he is a respected and valued member of the football community. When we all see him as an utter weapon.

He is a tragic broadcaster, but for some reason he seems to have the ear of a lot of football folk. (He was boasting the other day about having lunch on Vincent Tans yacht and taking investment advice from him).

So to me, he is either, a really nice and down to earth bloke away from a Sky camera or microphone, or the price these owners and that have to pay in the way football is funded.

Or he may simply be trusted by these folk.

You would think Moshiri would give an interview to EvertonTV, maybe that might come in the future or perhaps there is a view that it would be considered in-house propaganda if he did so. He clearly isn't going to please everyone but the choice of Jim White as his conduit does seem a little odd. It seems designed to appeal to populist sentiment.

If he gave a more demure, polished, sit-down interview to The BBC or The Telegraph, for example it would probably have been more in keeping with what I might have expected from him earlier on. I liked that it was supposedly unscripted though I presume he went through what he would be asked in advance. It removes the allure of mystery from him. I think that's of benefit as he was/is never going to have the immediate impact of an Abramovitch, it's important we hear from him.

Based on yesterday's interview, it would be nice to hear from him more often or at least, someone mandated to brief us on his behalf. I sincerely hope too that he is aware that the overall quality and frequency of communication from Everton to its fanbase, and the fostering and cultivation of an image of Everton as a club with ambition to be taken seriously to the wider football public and media is in dire need of an improvement. We are platitude and cliché central when it comes to how we are portrayed.

I'd like to give Moshiri the benefit of the doubt at the moment, and believe that it's still entirely possible that his regime will go on to new heights. However, I do think that we need to see something tangible soon in terms of either movement on the stadium issue (publicly ofc; they may well be working on it behind the scenes, but until the plans reach the point where they can become public knowledge it's a matter of trust) or squad investment

I thought I was the only one to do that! First the Koeman thread was ruined, now this one!
I would be you you still see the replies, if that feature was added then the ignore feature would definitely be used more often.

This thread has been an embarrassment.

I think you simply have to ignore the Sky persona which is an act. Whether he is different off stage is something else, but presumably has to be

He's gone straight to the 'poster boy' of both Sky Sports news and talkSPORT. Maximum exposure for not even the price of a phone call. Interviews with the broadsheets are all well and good but EVERYBODY is/was talking about it and Everton. He's slapping his dîck on the table and wants everyone to see.

Jim White was the best way to show it to everybody at the same time.

Was not expecting that voice hahaha
It reminded me of Latka's from Taxi years ago.

Publicity shy...apparently. :coffee:

and theres always a chance of a newspaper interview getting twisted and the actual article not sounding how he intended. a LIVE interview, can not be twisted in any way whatsoever.
