Moshiri on Jim White show on TalkSport today....

I understand why people are reluctant to get carried away by a few positive words from the person in charge. After all, we’ve been stung on numerous occasions in the past. However, although we haven’t quite made the strides we’d have liked by this point regarding playing staff, we have seen some positive action. It’s not just words as he is backing quite a bit of this up (debt being cleared/ground being moved along etc)

That talk of Usmanov being at the bridge with him on Saturday did make my ears prick up, though.

People on here crying that he hasn't said anything since his first interview and then when he speaks half of you don't believe him anyway. Are you expecting a picture of him next to contract fella signing the debt away? He has given no reason (so far) to rubbish what he is saying. Get a grip.

isn't that just extending the bar though? By the end of next summer? Like giving Martinez until the end of the season just in case he turned the toxicity around?

Personally, the fact we sold to buy this summer spoke far louder than any talk sport interview.

to be fair, Koeman tends to get off after a couple of years so i would say he is highly dispensable ;)

Aye mate, but with a sceptical hat on, seemed to me anyways that he went out of his way to point out how much total control and say that Koeman has on all matters in recruitment - who left and who came in and every other matter regarding the team, no mention of the actual DoF - so pressure squarely on Koeman in my eyes from that interview

Are you expecting him to have had it built?
No that'd be unreasonable, but if we are indeed making progress on it as a lot of people seem to think then I'd expect to know where it's going to be, but he hasn't said that has he?

We'll have to disagree on the squad then, I honestly think we need a complete overhaul

Cheers Terry

I understand the cynicism.

But interviews like this are reassuring for a lot of us, and worth doing I think.

From where i'm sitting, he has been a man of his word in all areas so far (headhunting new manager, clearing the debt, positive signs on stadium front) except for player recruitment which was a total botch up this summer and several people can share the blame for that.

haha yes, and the share of the blame is a name we all know too well.....

I have become a cynical blue over the past couple of years if i am honest. The amount of times i have had my hopes dashed in the past has stopped me caring about these things and just to go with the times instead. When it comes to pleasant interviews, as much as they might be genuine and we go off and follow through with it all and sign loads of players for the new shiny stadium etc. For me that needs to actually happen first, and we have blown the first chance of any sort of early sign of changes.

Most of these changes have happened away from the fans as well, which may well be down to things you wouldn't announce but it still does not serve the overall change in attitude from the club. It is a little flimsy to say sign players to prove we have money, but that is generally what we need to see. If we go out this next window and put money out there, even if it is rooney, then i will start to come round to all of this. But yeah, away from that, i genuinely believed we were signing players this summer until it closed and you realised that we had been let down again, just like Bill's 'we will do business early' tagline that never came true.

I think that is my point, on the face of the club, nothing has changed. Behind the scenes may have which great if true, but on the face of it, you wouldn't be able to tell we had been taken over, or had a change in ambition.
