Just strikes me as throwing some words out there and the fans eating them up like gospel mate. Yes i'm being pessimistic, will admit to that. This is just circles for the club until we get some sort of evidence otherwise i see it as. we have not been shown or told anything that bIll didn't act out for years, so until that changes i am not going to be dancing about hearing the same words again.

The sooner someone comes up with that Ashtonian translator the better

We all know how these things work. There will have been alot of work from the Media/PR team in advance,
"you can ask this but not this"
"please mention this but not that"
etc etc

interesting thing was Usmanov name being dropped in!

So he says... he also said James McCarthy was part of the family.

Words and no action - until I see something actually happening I don't give a toss what he says. I listened to Bill BS us for over a decade; I simply don't care what people say any more until it's actually happened.
Exactly.

That is a massive contradiction in his line on Sissoko/McCarthy. He's spoofing somewhere along the line on that...and if he's spoofing on that issue what else is he spoofing about?

Funny though, he did manager to pass every single thing onto the shoulders of Koeman, - Player recruitment - on him, Stones sale - he only sold when Koeman said he could, he hries the manager and then its the managers sole charge etc. Left Walsh completely out without a mention as well - as must see him as a lng term appointment and Koeman as very dispensible

Wait till Jan.
We will go early doors and bag a few players early, get the fans back on side then ship a few out at the back of Jan to even it all out.

"...tried our hardest to keep the lad...he was sobbing and shaking...how could we stand in his way....?"

I understand the cynicism.

But interviews like this are reassuring for a lot of us, and worth doing I think.

From where i'm sitting, he has been a man of his word in all areas so far (headhunting new manager, clearing the debt, positive signs on stadium front) except for player recruitment which was a total botch up this summer and several people can share the blame for that.

No reason to not believe him as of yet, if there's still been no significant investment into the squad by the end of next summer then I'll begin to be sceptical.

isn't that just extending the bar though? By the end of next summer? Like giving Martinez until the end of the season just in case he turned the toxicity around?

Personally, the fact we sold to buy this summer spoke far louder than any talk sport interview.

to be fair, Koeman tends to get off after a couple of years so i would say he is highly dispensable ;)

Few other things mate.

Put entirely the responsibility on the sale of Stones onto Martinez having agreed he could be sold the year before with the player and on Koeman who told him he could be sold - no mention of the having to sell to increase wages - althpough he does mention that 7m increase and commercial deal restrictiuon - which is odd as sellign stones makes those restrictions irrelevant to us this season - yet we spent nay a penny of the allowed icnrease...

No Mention of the Witsle fiasco, but a total U-Turn on his previous statement regarding Sissoko and McCarthy etc

Maybe mentions the players we failed at the end to get in - because with deadline approaching their is a nice convenient excuse of runnign out of time, whereas with other earlier targets it is shown that we just failed massively and where inept in the dealings/negotiations

Sceptical hat on till i see a shovel in the ground on the docks for a new site.
