Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Neighbours are in Cape Town Blue. So just a quiet celebration with a nice ribeye and Malbec. Sitting down to watch Hamnet now and maybe have a nice rum later.
Hi everyone, just back from holidaying in the Caribbean and only now catching up and missed your birthday, sorry Fred , hope you had a good day.

Well the holiday almost never happened as I had another flare up of cellulitis and only got clearance to travel the day before we were due to depart.

Had to try to keep the affected area out of the sun which was difficult but had to make do with SPF 50 and a wide brimmed cricket sun hat.

Anyway we had a great time but knackered now as we haven't slept in 24 hours.

Hope y'all are well and will endeavor to fully catch up on all posts shortly .

Cheers mate. Hope you had a great holiday. Was it a cruise or resort.?

Good morning all on this nippy one here .I hope all are well and had a good night ,lovely to see @peteblue post with fun ,keep strong Pete . I hope it was a fine holiday @jazzy ,do you snorkel ? Finland beat Italy in ice hockey last night 11-0 I felt for the Italians . We are hoping to walk later but at below -20° it is not ambushing weather with everyone clothed to the top of their heads . My wife is gutted as Countryfile is her Sunday special and the olympics have taken the early slot -again . I hope to survive the emotional fall out .
Have a great day all COYB.

Let's just say it was a tad slow.😎
That's unusual for you Fred , drinking Malbec slowly 😂 , whatever next.

Should have watched Sinners instead!

Talking of movies there was some dross on the flight.
The good news was that me and Mrs J were seated apart for the 8 hour flight. The really good news was that I wasn't sat next to the screaming kid 4 rows back but instead had to make do with 2 Manc women who talked incessantly and got me out of my aisle seat about 12 times to go to the toilet after their umpteenth vodka and coke. So ignored them, buried my head in a book and put my headphones on. Caught up on a couple of old movies that I'd missed - The good German ( rubbish) and The Island ( which I thought was pretty entertaining in a distraction sort of way, but then again I could watch Scarlet just standing there for 2 hours 😂).

Snorkeling @blue1948 ? No , no mine sweeping either.

Morning all, after a sunny day yesterday the wet weather has returned with sleet. Feeling a bit guilty this morning , should have gone to the pub yesterday evening, our friends group was playing there. We had promised to go, the pub is only round the corner from us, but old age catching up with us decided we’d rather stay home in the warm instead. I’m now going to have to send a grovelling apology in the hope that there was such a good crowd they didn’t miss us. Reading the temperatures there @blue1948 I realise we are a pair of lightweights, it’s positively tropical where we are in comparison.
Welcome home @jazzy, pleased to hear you had a great time.
Have a good day, all.💙

Hello everybody. We've just returned from our trip to Margaret River. It was lovely. I shall pay more attention to the wine labels in Tesco in future and see if I recognise any of the vineyards. We saw some stingrays yesterday- just swimming along the shoreline. Totally awesome- there was also a fairly spectacular thunderstorm last night - loads of rain - like being at home!

Sounds as though you are having the best time. Have to admit I’m slightly envious of your seeing the Milky Way. I can’t ever recall seeing it even before the days of light pollution although I do remember how bright the stars seemed in the blackouts during the miner’s strikes in the seventies.
I've see the Milky Way , Galaxy , Mars and Bounty .....yep Granny needed some help finishing off her tin of Celebrations 😂
