Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Morning all, fairly bright but very chilly again. Off to see my friend this morning for our weekly natter. This afternoon there’s more sorting out of junk as the de-cluttering continues. We found a box of assorted souvenirs and guide books from museums, steam railways etc. There’s a rosette from the Horse Driving trials, Sandringham 1984, god knows how we came by that, it’s the last place I would go!
@Val P Belated Happy Birthday to Mr P. for yesterday.
Have a good day, all.💙
Thank you and Mr P says thank you too for your birthday wishes. We had a lovely sunny day in Liverpool- a bit of shopping for presents, then a nice tapas lunch and on the way home we called in to Josh’s for grandad cuddles and birthday love.
I hope you had a lovely time chatting with your friend 💙

Good morning all. We've had a couple of quiet days. We did a bit of shopping yesterday and went to my niece's for a barbecue the day before - as well as a visit to the casino in Perth. We finished $200 up so that was good.
Today the sightseeing continues with a trip inland (39°C forecast) to a place called New Norcia which is home to a Benedictine monastery. Growing up, all the priests in our church were Benedictine monks so it is a bit of a trip for our late Mum and Dad.
@Armaghtoffee I'll probably watch the Tony Blair thing when I get home but I also share @Gwladysover 's views on him!

I still haven’t got around to watching it but looking forward to it. I will come armed to face both you and @Gwladysover in a forthright debate 😉

Very jealous of your visit to the Monastery. When I visit a holy place I get an immense sense of calm but also an understanding that there is something more.

Good morning all on this fine day ,I hope all are well and had a good night / afternoon !! A distinct lack of photos from downunder . I have enjoyed the break from football ,a chance to rest my bias .I watched a vidoe on Duncan Mckenzie ,He was so good to watch . We are about to watch the Blair interview in a bit ,I will let you know of my feelings about the killer afterwards .
Have a great day all COYB

Duncan was a fabulous player to watch, his skill and control of the ball will never be repeated.

If you wish to rest your bias make sure you’re sat in a comfy chair, don’t want you getting piles do we… 😆…….

Well as promised I did watch the Blair thing .As all on here know I am not a lover of the way politics are conducted in the UK so I have to watch how far I go to be true to myself .
I am glad that he played a role in the peace agreement in N.I as it is close to my heart and the role he played in Kosovo but they are outweighed by the innocent lives him and the idiot from over the pond took in the war against weapons of mass destruction .I have on many occassions apologised to Iraqi people that live here for his actions .The man himself is just an actor playing a role of deceit . I do believe he should face the courts in the Netherlands with Bush for the lives they took for no justifiable reason . Good night from me .

Hi folks. The monastery visit did not disappoint. Very interesting and also quite spiritual. There are only 7 monks left but they still bake their own bread make olive oil and also port. There is now a bottle of St Benedict's port in my luggage to come home! The tour also did not shy away from the abuses suffered by the Aboriginal people where children were forcibly removed from their parents and placed in missions and institutions to assimilate them into western society. I found it quite refreshing that this was fully acknowledged.
Here's a few pics- the chapel, the founder's grave, the monastery.
In other news the temperature hit 41°C today and I actually swallowed a fly!
