Chippy tea on my knee and finally getting to watch the Blair documentary. It’s good so far as I didn’t know much about his backstory. Initial observation is that he is incredibly driven but not quite as much as Cherie.

I do understand the vitriol towards Blair of course but also the positives that he did bring in my eyes. I had the pleasure of being at meetings with Mo Mowlam, and less so Jonathan Powell, in my formative years but never met Blair. They were speaking for him though of course so I’m naturally curious to watch this series. I had just started Uni when he became PM and what a party that was in my student house. He caught the zeitgeist with Britpop and for us young Nationalists he gave us hope of a better future.
Mo Mowlam , now there was a politician with integrity , talent and a real sense of public service.

I really trusted her. She meant what she said and had a good way with people. Swore like a trooper too
Her contribution to NI was immense and I think Blair got jealous at her getting the plaudits.

I am interested to read the comments on Blair and others ,I didn't realise until last night it was more than one program so I will watch the seond after posting this .
It makes me angry as I watch the news from other countries when they report on AMW that he will get away with it one way or another .What a sham ,the queen knew what he had done or she wouldn't have paid 12 mill. But hey why do we think things will change ,royalty has beaten murdered and stolen as far as history goes back ,so what is this in comparison . I love the fact that they are thinking of stripping his right to accession if proven guilty ! Are you having a laugh ? What chance does eighth in line have of the throne ?

I genuinely think he will either top himself or there will be a tragic accident. They don't want this stuff getting out
I have just finished the two episodes I could get on Ch4 . No politics from me but as a man I see him as a person who is great at getting where he wants to be but won't admit he was not very good at it ,with obvious caveats .There was a comment that his good deeds will be masked by his failure to see his mistakes ,I find that a good summary having watched all three .
I think the program shone a light on Putin that is frightening . It also confirmed my thoughts that Iraq was a mistake although Saddam did need to go .
