Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

I can never agree with hating anyone but I can certainly see why they are not universally liked or appreciated.

You're a fan , that's great.

Me ? I think their music is contrived and amateurish. For me it's style over substance. But one person's Chablis is another person's Blue Nun.

If we all liked the same thing the world would be a pretty boring place.
I agree that their whole musical act is contrived mate. But contrived solely by themselves rather than any outside influences. When they formed the band they sat down and planned everything in detail, from the type of music they wanted to play, to their wardrobe, aesthetic, live performances and the type of audience to target. Then they started playing live shows and it seems people bought into it. But although contrived, they were in fact also being pretty true to themselves, so in that regard sort of authentic too. Live they can come across as rehearsed and I get some people won't like that, but there are many moments of spontaneity too. I disagree on the amateurish side; in fact I think they are very professional but that's absolutely fine.

As regards the two posts I made, I have absolutely no issue with people not liking the band's music. That's personal choice and we are all different as you say. I don't even have a real issue with the discourse over industry plants/ nepotism and sexism that has followed this band since their first single was released. If that's what people want to believe that's up to them. However I do question whether this is always done judiciously, i.e same rules applied to everybody. But what I was referring to, and something that does annoy me greatly, is the amount of just pure hate that is posted on line about this band. I mean stuff I couldn't post about in here without being banned. A lot of it is both personal and hurtful and I'm not aware of any other band out there right now that is going through this. I'm aware that others have in the past and they are usually female or female led, but not always. The 2 recent journals have, in my opinion, only added fuel to this hate which is why they have annoyed me so much. In one case where stuff was fabricated it was pure irresponsible journalism.

Anyway, this topic started last night as a bit of a joke and seemed to get out of hand. So it's probably best if we drop it now and don't go there again. I can do without the hassle ;)

Thanks mate, we have an Asda in walking distance.
Will check it out next week, I'm going up to Elgin tomorrow for the weekend with Mrs LT
I'm going to see my nephew in a show, he works at the MOD base up there but is into his amdram and is playing in footloose at the town hall.
Looking forward to it.
If your nephew is at RAF Lossiemouth then there’s the opportunity to see Lossie v Buckie Thistle , 3pm ko , the pies are very good 🙂
Unfortunately I’m in Inverness helping out with Children’s Panel training and will miss it ☹️

I think I have misjudged this then as I like a tidy garden and this one is public facing. Hmmm I am unsure now as a blaze of colour for a few weeks will not please me enough to outweigh 7 months of messy borders.

I may need to find an alternative spot for them then, around the back of the house solely for my own viewing pleasure.
We sowed some “seeds for bees” in our front garden, they turned out to be mainly Vipers Bugloss, totally out of place and the garden just looked a mess. Think you would be wise to sow them around the back of the house.

Good evening folks. Are we all friends again? 🤣🤣 Don't let a woman ( or a poppet) come between you, boys. It's still freezing here. I've still got the heating on at night.
We visited son and his gf for the day yesterday. It was really nice to see them both. We went out to a Chinese buffet for tea - first time I've done that since before COVID.
Today has mostly been work and the weekly shop.
Have a good night all.

So work today and wok yesterday.

My favourite never wins Val.
I’m the same. I love the big dogs the best. I love a dog who squashes you when they sit on your knee. I used to show my English bull terrier Rosie (I might have mentioned it before) and needed a second place at a championship show to get her to Crufts. Sadly we got a third. Shortly after that we rescued a little staffie dog who was being mistreated and had her spayed, which meant we could no longer show her. Apols if I’ve posted this before but I really loved her 💙
