Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Mate, you'd still hate it if they covered a C&W rap song and turned it into a guitar classic😀

I loved it. But it was my current favourite band covering one of my favourite songs from the 70s, This town ain't big enough. Stayed true to the original too. I don't normally like it when classic songs are practically rewritten. Doesn't normally work for me.

Anyway, you're not alone in disliking them Jazz. The level of hate out there on social media is quite staggering.
I can never agree with hating anyone but I can certainly see why they are not universally liked or appreciated.

You're a fan , that's great.

Me ? I think their music is contrived and amateurish. For me it's style over substance. But one person's Chablis is another person's Blue Nun.

If we all liked the same thing the world would be a pretty boring place.

I’m going to try something different this year for my front garden and picked up some mixed seeds yesterday. Taken by the wild meadow flowers locally, I plan to try that in my borders for a bit of colour. I also picked up some butterfly and bee friendly flower seeds to give it a go as well.
I've tried loads of times to grow a meadow, never worked for me. Good luck AT

They were signed to Island records before they released their first single, and supported rolling stones within a year of their first live performance. People are suspicious of their rise for good reason, taking away any sexist abuse
In fairness C lots of bands get signed to big labels before releasing stuff. And they were at the bottom of an 8 artist schedule when they supported the Stones along with 3 other unsigned artists. In fact there were around a dozen unsigned artists at Hyde Park last year.

And if you read my post again you'll see I actually implied that it wasn't all sexist.

No it doesn't mate. They're doing incredibly well for a new band and have already managed the crossover to mainstream and also to the US, both of which has proved almost impossible for young guitar bands in recent years.

But they should be able to enjoy success and garner a fanbase without all the hate that has accompanied it.99.9% of other successful bands don't get it and very little of it appears linked to their music.

Here's an example, an album review out today from The Spectator. The opening gambit "The Last Dinner Party are, sadly, rather good. The debut album of the dislikeable band is pompous, precocious, clever and melodious "

WTF. 😀😀😀
Provocative reviewing ,just to get your back up.

There must be a historical reason for pea and ham soup on a Thursday? It’s very random to say the least.
I have asked the missus and she says it has been all her life "Pea soup day " even the hairy bikers ate it when they did Finland .

UPDATE. Straight off the press Gustaf king of Sweden (and Finland )said everyone should eat well!!!! on Thursday because Friday was a religious fasting day .We all learn something everyday ,including the wife .

Excellent idea, may give that a go myself if I can muster the enthusiasm, I'm not a great gardener just strive to keep it tidy.
All for helping the eco system as my daughter is studying that sought of thing and bangs the drum.

About 12 years ago I turned waste ground behind our house into a wildflower meadow , a lot of work initially but it’s thrived. I’ve often posted photos in this thread and other GOT threads. The blue flowers are Viper’s Bugloss , a magnate for bees , once established they s3lf seed and take over any bare ground. They usually take 15 months to initially get them to flower from seed but are worth it..

Here’s two,from previous years.
