Messymascot's faith in humanity and ginger safe haven

Bright but windy here today, not too hot but that is not a bad thing as we are going to a village carnival and fete with daughter and grandkids later. Need to raid the cash machine I’ve got a feeling it’s going to be an expensive afternoon. Have a good day, everyone.
Not surprised it's windy with syrup of figs and beans on the menu

I completely understand where you are coming from AT. I grew up in a staunchly Catholic environment but and was given the same message. What concerns me most about this legislation is that it is so anti women. Men appear to be absolved of any responsibility. I've read that in some states, and @Sassy Colombian might be able to confirm, that if a women has a miscarriage, she could be sent to prison and terminating an ectopic pregnancy could also result in criminal proceedings. That is just so wrong.

Also the blatant hypocrisy of some of the politicians astounds me. Take the utterly vile Jacob Rees-Mogg. He's Catholic. Staunchly anti abortion and I respect that, it goes with his faith. However the same man voted against free school meals during lockdown and appears to be happy to let migrant children drown in the English Channel. If you are pro-life then that doesn't end when the child is born. You have to support the child if the parents cannot or are unable to. All children. It is also not in line with Catholic teachings or what Jesus said. My favourite passage in the bible (possibly Matthew's gospel) is when Jesus said about the sheep and the goats - when I was hungry, you gave me food, when I was naked you clothed me. That, and George Orwell's Animal Farm have probably shaped my whole philosophy on how I try to live my life.
Couldn't agree more Ange

Are you drinking enough water, T? Dehydration is one of the leading causes of constipation.
honestly I drink more water than anyone else i know, litres of the stuff a day, because I'm always dehydrated and have very dehydrated skin, doesn't help mind, just makes me go to the toilet too much. I never realised until recently that normal people don't drink anywhere near the amount I drink lol

I believe there cases of severe dehydration even for those who consume a lot of water. Do you have much caffeine in daily routine, or booze? If I remeber correctly stress can exacerbate dehydration - and obviously any diuretics.

Might be worth getting your GP to give you an MOT.

I don't drink alcohol, I do probably drink too much caffeine though in instant coffee. When I used to be on morphine for pain, I had to buy linseeds and eat them by the spoonful twice a day just so I could go to the loo everyday.

I haven't been constipated since I made the decision to come off stuff like that for that reason, the side effects were as bad as the pain, I'd rather hurt than not be able to go to the toilet.

I did get diagnosed with diabetes type 2(which makes you urinate more) but since then lost 6 stone and stopped drinking so I'm of the opinion I have reversed it as I eat sweets with no issues. The urinating can be a problem though, I hate long journeys and won't go anywhere if I can't access a loo. Like I say only just realised it is because of the sheer amount I drink.

Have you had your prostate checked - just thinking of wee situation?

Morning everyone ,

Lovely start to the day today but lots of rain coming in later.

Billie Eillish ? Not for me @Barnfred 55 , watched 10 minutes of her show and then played the Lotus Eaters and Human League!

It's Open Garden day in the village today but we didn't want ours to be included - far too much pressure to get it looking perfect for the hordes tramping around.

It's bad enough getting it ready for next Friday's visit of GOT royalty. lol

Have a good one.
Who else is coming next Friday.? Don't tell me you've invited Chico :p

I have to confess I did switch off Billie Irish at 11pm. Thought she was okay but not really my cup of tea. I wanted to watch Gong but the Beeb weren't covering that particular stage for some reason. So I ended up flicking between the Foals and Primal Scream. I discovered Khruangbin earlier on, a band I somehow have never heard of. They were fantastic Jazz. If you didn't catch them I highly recommend you do so on catch up today.;)

Celeste on at 7pm my tip for tonight Fred. Shetlands a bit like Billie Holliday.

Very unusual and distinctive voice but soulful and Jazzy too.
