Not sure whether I mentioned it in here but when I was in Guernsey I met an English chap called Tom who used to own and operate a vineyard in Bordeaux. He was one of the guys i got pissed with until 4am. He lives in Alderney now and is a wine merchant using his contacts from his time in France to bring wine into the Channel Isles. He'd be about the same age as you Jazz.

As soon as I'd typed this I had a call from my neighbour about the race night tonight. Apparently one of the guys has covid so a few of the family have dropped out and there's just me and him now. So he's suggested meeting at 6pm, going out in his classic Jag convertible (which will be nice), and taking in a Chinese first. So I dispelled pans for a cocktail and just had a cider instead. Getting ready now to go out.

he also invited me around for a Jubilee BBQ on Saturday, He's having a few other friends around who I've already met. It's an earlyish start so I still should be able to take in some of the live music taking place in the village which goes on until midnight. May even get the son to go with me as long as he isn't too pissed. He isn't a big drinker. In fact none of them are but that's still a work in progress. ;)
