Seen some of the players who've cost 20 million pounds recently.

Footballing inflation, man. Everybody costs big money these days.
Name one fullback that Coleman is better than that cost 20m?

If you can do that then I'll accept your point.

Except [Poor language removed] Luke Shaw who's only a kid and there's no way anyone can know at this stage how good he will be.

I think we'd sack him to be honest - or rather, Kenwright would ask for him to agree to a mutual termination. It'd be at the point where you couldn't afford not to. The clubs dignity would be at stake if we lost to QPR, and I don't think Martinez would be able to justify limping on because of his contract.

Not only that, most contracts have clauses for poor performance. It depends where that line is for Martinez in his contract. For all we know, being under 40 points after 30 games could be grounds for dismissal under his new deal, who knows.

You're assuming we'd be smart enough to put such a clause in a contract

We as fans have a far higher opinion of our players than other teams. McCarthy is a decent workmanlike premier league midfielder however he's not a 20m pound man and neither is Coleman. Baines was 4 seasons ago but wasn't by the time Moyes tried to buy him.
This.

McCarthy needs to be scoring five to eight goals plus a handful of assists a season to be worth anywhere near 20m. What does he have... two goals for us in two seasons?

Coleman has it in his locker, we've all seen that. I guess it can't help having somebody as useless as McGeady in front of you, or as selfish and injury-prone as Mirallas in and out of the team.

Baines is finished, gone so off the boil this season it's unreal.

QPR are fighting for the life.

This game will give us a bigger insight to how he has changed than the Newcastle game.

What we've witnessed this year is nothing but shambolic.

Saying he will deliver CL football is another case of RM saying the right things rather than doing the right things; unfortunatley, the performance on the field and the results on the board speaker bigger volumes than his empty words

'I will deliver Champions League football at Everton'

Some say it's bs. I say It's confidence and positive attitude towards the future. And I like it.
Exactly. Would be a bit disappointing if he came and said he'll hopefully get us into the Europa League if we have a bit of luck.

I will say that Coleman has been much worse this season than last

It seems he's taking about 4 or 5 too many touches

He's lost decisiveness for some reason

Down to the tactics, poor confidence or both?
He's taking more touches because he has less space to operate in and his first touch isn't good enough.

Last season I would have agreed Finners, but in the now it looks foolish, the pendulum has swung so far in the other direction that i'm not sure it's retrievable.

Its false confidence though, I am all for positive thinking but look back over the season, its woeful, Martinez could not get champions league if he managed barca or chelsea totally deluded..... anyway Im off to buy a euro millions ticket as I am going to win the euromillions this evening

Fabio Coentrao.

hahah was just typing that you biff, good edit

In. Little league run now that that's all we've got to concentrate on, finish a tidy 7th, give him the summer to get in some decent players and someone who knows how to defend. If crap still sack him by crimbo.

If this was Moyes then people wouldn't be too fussed really... just getting to that stage when older players are needing replacements and the younger players need another season. Gi'im a chance like
