Just get a manager who wants to win games at all costs. Fook philosophies, ways of playing, Dna..it's worthless. It's about using the players you have to be affective and win games.

Dare I say it... That lot got the better manager out of the two!
Rodgers is a fantastic manager. He's ruthless too which I is always a sign of a good manager. Binning Gerard was a sign he can see the bloody obvious and not let heart rule head and has the balls to make the big call. Same with Balotelli.

Not only could Martinez not see that with Barry which was evident towards the end of last season but he gave him a new 3 year contract and hasn't held him responsible for any of our poor performances otherwise he would have been dropped or at least subbed.

Everyone makes mistakes. The mark of a good manager is whether you recognise those mistakes and correct them before they ruin you.

Martinez is arrogant and borderline delusional and it prevents him from accepting the truth.

Every now and again he does change a little like playing defensively against the RS after we where hammered however it still happens too often and takes too much of a wakeup call. It's a character flaw and for that reason he has to go.

Moyes' character flaw was that he was a negative git but I think we've found out this season that it's better being negative and making sure the defence is sorted than trying to out gun teams with inferior players and naive tactics.

Martinez and Rodgers play very similar football, the difference is how each reacts to bad form. Martinez sticks to it, Rodgers changes it.

Moyes did what he thought was best with what he had available to get a positive result.

Roberto does what he thinks is best regardless of what players are available and the result.

Also RM has had a better set of players to achieve his goal.

Maybe because that would mean admitting he had made a mistake and got it wrong in playing him in the first place?

I still can't believe the goals we conceded. It's one thing having players caught out of position, or just not being bothered to track back, but we pretty much had enough players in the right positions to deal with, and clear, the danger for three of their goals. Why we struggled with the basic defensive stuff like timing your approach, not getting caught ball watching, put your head/boot through the ball and get it as far away from the danger area as possible etc., is a mystery when you realise these are seasoned professionals, not a bunch of youth players thrown into the mix. That said... Martinez in :D
The only thing I can think is that he didn't think Stones was up to it either physically or mentally and had no-one else.

In fairness Alcaraz wasn't bad in the 2nd half and even in the first half. Alcaraz was awful but Jags, Coleman, Banes and Barry where no better. Their whole team just walked through us or hit it long.

Everton mentality perhaps. We are a team that seems to fluff their lines when it matters.

Not much different from the Moyes era. A really good season (without a trophy) followed by a dreadful one. Hammered in the last 16 of the Europa League to a team with no hope of winning it. Bottling it at the crunch moments. Playing for draws in the derby.

Only difference is Moyes was perpetually negative and Martinez can't set up a defence.

We stuck with Moyes after 2004 and 2006 though so will stick with Martinez now. We're not going to be in for the top range of manager. He needs to put it right next season though.

Gerard blew the league with 3 games to go.

If they hadn't of tried the experiment of Balotelli who I'm almost certain Rodgers never wanted they would have been challenging this season.

Are their players really that much better than ours?

My Mouth just filled with vomit there FFS!!

After a nights sleep in me, I'm still not on the Martinez Out train yet, but I'm sticking by my stance that if we get relegated, I want him gone

He's on a lot of money for a second tier manager and his tactics would be easily countered in The Championship, especially when you consider our best players would either leave/be sold

If we stay up, I'll wait and see how we do in the first few months of the new season

I think that's reasonably fair
