The subs were fine initially. Personally I would have kept Del on, but we got a foothold on the match we were missing when Kone came on.

The moment that changed it was the second goal, which was inexplicably allowed. I don't know how anybody could not see that ball was out in real time. From there, we were always likely to be cooked. They have big game players, some of the best in the world. We have oldies and potential, with not a real leader in sight.

It's hard for me to blame Martinez too much as once again fate badly conspired against us, but given this is happening every week, it ain't a coincidence anymore. He won't ever get sacked obviously, but I'm concerned that we've gone about as far as we can under him. Which is nowhere.

Not enough passion .

Lukaku didn't look interested all match . Stones 's head doesn't seem right and Martinez's tactics are woeful.

The only criticism of Martinez i can make today is taking Deulofeu off. He was proving a bit ineffectual towards the end but at the same time is always capable of turning a game with one move. Rom looks a bit burned out to be fair to him. But who do we have to replace him? Kone is only good off the bench, although i guess there's always that dog of war Naismith - oh, hold on..... You've a few days left to splash the cash, Roberto, otherwise that deal is going to count as a massive mark against you. As for Stones, you are right, he's not on his game lately. Either he's been tapped up or is disappointed he hasn't been.

And Barkley lad: ffs, think with your FEET, and not your brain. Too much time with the ball at your feet while your brain ticks over.

Summary of the [Poor language removed] things about this evening's encounter

1) The Subsitutions - just plain wrong. Geri was having a great game and was a constant outlet for the team. Taking him off was outlandishly stupid. Possibly the main reason we lost the game.

2) Cleverly - he's just not good enough. Adds nothing, is too slow, too weak and frequently loses the ball. He's not a bad guy, but he's not a physically good enough footballer for a top premier league side. Especially on the wing!

3) Stones - very low on confidence and NOT a right back. He's very young and will come good again but right now he's afraid to pass the ball, he stands too far off his man and he needs to bulk up a bit. He's learn though and he'll be brilliant, but sadly probably not for Everton.

4) Lukaku - not playing like he was earlier in the season, although i actually thought he wasn't too bad today. Still, I fear his mind is now on a move away in the summer. I don't think he wanted it to go that way but the way the season's panned out, unfortunately in modern day football his agent will make his decisions for him and he'll be out of here this summer.

5) Martinez - I actually like the man and I respect a lot of his concepts on attacking football. What i absolutely disdain however is his absolute DISRESPECT to the art of defensive football. He poo poos it time and time again as if it's not that important so long as you're scoring goals. This season has proved just how false a belief system this really is. I like that he signed Funes Mori, and i think him and Jags work well together. But players need guidance from managers on how to defend as a team and I think Martinez lacks a basic understanding of this side of football. He just doesn't get it and this may ultimately be his demise.

6) GOT forum users blaming the officials - we lost today because we weren't good enough and a disastrous tactical decision made mid way through the second half. End of story.

There's more of course, I'm just not arsed typing them right now...

The only way some won't kick up a fuss to go in the summer is if there's another decent manager here,If Kenwright care a bout everton and what they have at the moment, he need to get Martinez gone ASAP. My choice would be Laudrup but in the mean time, just get Joe Royal to stand in you never know he may win the FA cup for us again, what a story that would be.

Completely get your point though about trying to force the issue now so as to increase the chances of the team staying together. Doubt anything will happen though especially with a possible takeover in the offing.

Of course mate, I don't think anything will change either until the summer and especially with the rumblings of a takeover.

I always said to my Kopite scruff mates that Rogers was a lucky sod and will never get a better job than the RS in his lifetime and is miles out of his depth. Well, I could basically say the same about Bobby, will talk a good game but hasn't got the tactical nous or mindset to be able to produce the goods at us. No shame in that as plenty of managers have failed before.

Nothing wrong as an Evertonian wanting, no, expecting better for my club.

It's as simple as this. Martinez's first season was fantastic as we still had the remnants of a decent defensive game. And slowly it has disintegrated into being non existence. It won't get better under Martinez that is a fact. So there is only one option get rid of him.

sums it up

What revisionist pony is this?

We conceded three goals. Only one was down to the injustice you refer to.
We scored once, and never looked like scoring at all in the second half.
Take away that injustice and we're now in extra time, not looking like scoring... the two other goals we conceded are a HUGE factor - twice the factor, you might say than the one goal that should have been disallowed.
Don't be silly. That dodgy goal changed the game.

We were riding our luck, but doing enough. It all fell apart after that.

Deflection on first goal. Undeniably not the managers fault. Second goal ball out. Undeniably not the managers fault. Third goal Stones does nothing to get in front of Aguero and lets him glide in untouched with Coleman only coming back from injury. Undeniably NOT Martinez's fault.

I know some want him gone no matter what and these past two seasons have been immensely disappointing but people this is not one of those games that justify his sacking.
As I said before about this.

We have conceded 3 goals.in 5 games over the last 2 months.

At what point do you blame the manager and say hang on , we shouldn't be doing that in a regular basis?

If del had to come off then bring on Lennon not kone.

Anybody on the bench would be preferable to osman.

I'd prefer stones as a defensive mid, I find watching him as a CB or RB isn't good for my health.

There goes a genuine chance to show the likes of lukaku that we can go on and be successful here.

What makes this worse is that I'm not surprised. Sitting here I'm not gutted looking at the score, I'm just fed up.

He wasn't good tonight, he didn't seem to put it all in tonight
