We were playing the gazillionaires and arguably best team in the land in a two legged semi final so we had no right to walk through as lots seem to expect here. To get through over two legs we would have had to be absolutely at the top of our game and them to be slightly below par. Unfortunately we were not good enough and it hurts but some serious overreaction here as is to be expected after a loss in a massive game but a bit of perspective needed. No manager would guarantee us a win in similar circumstances and we are out by one goal over 180 minutes.
Take your sensible post and get out! Go on, out.

Deflection on first goal. Undeniably not the managers fault. Second goal ball out. Undeniably not the managers fault. Third goal Stones does nothing to get in front of Aguero and lets him glide in untouched with Coleman only coming back from injury. Undeniably NOT Martinez's fault.

I know some want him gone no matter what and these past two seasons have been immensely disappointing but people this is not one of those games that justify his sacking.
Like I've said in an earlier post, Lady Luck didn't help us tonight, but neither did the managers approach to the game or his substitutions. Just sometimes you make your own luck in football.

Summary of the [Poor language removed] things about this evening's encounter

1) The Subsitutions - just plain wrong. Geri was having a great game and was a constant outlet for the team. Taking him off was outlandishly stupid. Possibly the main reason we lost the game.

2) Cleverly - he's just not good enough. Adds nothing, is too slow, too weak and frequently loses the ball. He's not a bad guy, but he's not a physically good enough footballer for a top premier league side. Especially on the wing!

3) Stones - very low on confidence and NOT a right back. He's very young and will come good again but right now he's afraid to pass the ball, he stands too far off his man and he needs to bulk up a bit. He's learn though and he'll be brilliant, but sadly probably not for Everton.

4) Lukaku - not playing like he was earlier in the season, although i actually thought he wasn't too bad today. Still, I fear his mind is now on a move away in the summer. I don't think he wanted it to go that way but the way the season's panned out, unfortunately in modern day football his agent will make his decisions for him and he'll be out of here this summer.

5) Martinez - I actually like the man and I respect a lot of his concepts on attacking football. What i absolutely disdain however is his absolute DISRESPECT to the art of defensive football. He poo poos it time and time again as if it's not that important so long as you're scoring goals. This season has proved just how false a belief system this really is. I like that he signed Funes Mori, and i think him and Jags work well together. But players need guidance from managers on how to defend as a team and I think Martinez lacks a basic understanding of this side of football. He just doesn't get it and this may ultimately be his demise.

6) GOT forum users blaming the officials - we lost today because we weren't good enough and a disastrous tactical decision made mid way through the second half. End of story.

There's more of course, I'm just not arsed typing them right now...
of course we can blame the officials !! That ball was out and the goal shouldn't have stood. Without it we wouldn't have lost.

The only way some won't kick up a fuss to go in the summer is if there's another decent manager here,If Kenwright care a bout everton and what they have at the moment, he need to get Martinez gone ASAP. My choice would be Laudrup but in the mean time, just get Joe Royal to stand in you never know he may win the FA cup for us again, what a story that would be.

two ex wigan players whove played and won a semi brought on, definately part of his thinking about 'experience' sorry but wrong sub taking del off, wrong in every signle level, yeah we got robbed with thats econd goal but ffs kone for del says it all

I loved it at the start of the season when Martinez told Chelsea to jog on over Stones. He looked like he meant business and we were playing well and winning games. In hindsight, Stones is nowhere near worth £50m, has contributed to an awful defence and Martinez has no idea about how to set up a competitive Premier League team.

He wasn't good tonight, he didn't seem to put it all in tonight
Said this all along but do you blame him? I'd be sick of losing games and dripping points as well if it kept happening. His agent will tell him he should be at a better club scoring goals to win games and win trophies.

I reckon the stoke game is what turned his head. Two goals and 3-1and we lose anyway.
