Deflection on first goal. Undeniably not the managers fault. Second goal ball out. Undeniably not the managers fault. Third goal Stones does nothing to get in front of Aguero and lets him glide in untouched with Coleman only coming back from injury. Undeniably NOT Martinez's fault.

I know some want him gone no matter what and these past two seasons have been immensely disappointing but people this is not one of those games that justify his sacking.

You make some good points. Between our [Poor language removed] luck and honestly our just poor player performance, we aren't going to win games. I still want Martinez gone, but maybe some of our players just aren't as good as we think they are. Sure, they have moments of brilliance. Most players at this level should. But every player on our team is disappointing in some way. Either too slow, too clumsy, too young, too old. I don't know. Maybe I'm just trying to figure out what's wrong. I know we all are.

I love this team and hate to see this happening.

There were two supposed superstars wandering round that pitch like they were above it all. Is that the manager's fault? The one good defender tonight was the one he bought.
Despite that everyone knew we needed huge chunk of luck tonight against a team who could bring someone like De Bruyne on as a sub, but they still needed one of worst decisions I've seen against us and a nasty deflection. Both of them just when we seemed to be regaining some composure. I know it's hard for people to look rationally but we lost by one goal over two legs against the probable champions. Is calling for the manager to go really what's needed now? Or is it just what some people wanted to do after this match.

How anyone can continue to defend this fraud Martinez is beyond belief

Think you have to look at context in those situations and say that yes there needs to be a defensive adjustment but tonight that wasn't the case except for Stones being benched. Funes Mori looks twice the player he is.
It never is the case mate it seems. Never martinezs fault, always the ref or bad luck or European football or the home fans.

Tbh I'm sick of hearing excuses about him, we haven't won a league game against anyone who currently aren't going down since September! The same predictable subs killed the game off tonight for us as we couldn't attack city once we had no pace. It just isn't good enough for a team who are meant to be quite good on paper

had enough of this [Poor language removed]. excuse after excuse every week from martinez. sorry roberto thats its for me, time for a change.

Forget the was it or wasn't it beyond the line.
This failure is down to Martinez going far too defensive.
Lennon would have been perfect for this game.
Would help out the full back as well as giving us a out ball.
Coleman should have started.

Not even that angry. More dejected.

I'm away to drink a case of Tennents Supers and beat up my missus.
I might torch my house with my kids inside. I'll decide that when the Supers have been drank.
Wrong ............just so wrong.......... Behave yerself....... talking about burning your kids over a football game.MODS !!!!

Here's another quote, off BBC.

"In the replay it doesn't leave you with any doubt, the ball is clearly out and should never be allowed to carry on.

"We should take this as an inspiration to do something special because that call cost us. We played with an incredible swagger and character."

But the main question: Did we at least win the throw-in count?

Phenomenal season, Roberto. Bravo. Taking us back to the pre-Moyes days in less than 18 months.

Ffs. You guys that are blaming Roberto for bent officials do my head in. We MATCHED City, probably the best team in the Premiership, over both games. In the end, if you take into account a poor call in our favour in the first leg and a poor call against us in this leg, it went down to a hair's breadth. We were also really unlucky to lose Besic and Mirallas on Saturday. The only thing i can blame Martinez for is offloading Naismith without getting cover in.

I don't know what to think, I just want to cry. I look forward and don't know what's going to happen. I sound like I've just gone through a break up.. But that's what Everton do to me on a weekly basis

Too many half arsed individuals, mixed in with in cleverley and osman who are absolute garbage.

The club has no ambition whatsoever, and no guts anymore. It's pathetic. They should be so thankfully the everton fans base is one of the most fiercely loyal in the world. Time for the club to stop accepting brave near misses and start being EVERTON FOOTBALL CLUB again.

First things first, A PROPER MANAGER.

The problem wasn't taking Deulofeu off tonight....it was playing him last Sunday for 90 minutes, when he looked shattered for the last 20 mins....
Should have kept him fresh for tonight, the game was set up perfectly for him to counter attack tonight, and he seemed to fade after missing that great chance second half...I'd still have left him on tonight, cleverly offered nothing, and delboy is our most dangerous midfielder
