Youre
So Leicester is the team we want to measure our players against? Ouch.
Your saying he's finished, he's been out for 7 weeks he's got to get match sharp which will only come from playing. In 3 wks he will be much sharper and is probably baines preferred midfielder for getting the best out of baines. Your just looking for a scapegoat in my opinion. Oviedo playing in the manner he did was very encouraging though considering his injury. Maybe he should have started with Bryan as he looked a bit fitter than peanuts?

What?? Do you even watch the games? Hibbert has been comically bad!!
Hibbert and I have been a severe critic did ok today, but it means the rest of the team cover for him as he is inept at right back - hence we have no midfield no pace in the team!
Why was he subbed at ten minutes to go totally baffled me seeing RM giving Browning instructions to bomb down the right and supply crosses in which he did and tracked back????
If that's the case start with Browning!!!!!
We were so poor in the first half Naismith was playing in front of our defence !

Never heard of Yedlin so I won't comment on him

With gibson unfit, and McCarthy injured as of right now, would you have been ok with Besic and Ledson being our CM's for the past couple of games and couple coming up?

I'm not so sure. Of course, i believe in the ability of ledson and think he will do big things for us, but perhaps not just yet.

Then again, what do i know!
Gibson played ok and will only get fit by playing. He's only 26 still and a 26 year old Gibson is probably better or at least as good as a 33 year old Barry.

Plus Ledson is young but Utd aren't afraid to play teenagers and neither should we.

Barkley and Osman can also play there.

Yes it will happen - but without that we wouldn't have finished 5th last season, or done the double over United, or beat Arsenal 3-0.

Howard was at fault today. Not the style. All he needed to do was slam it into row z and we could get Pienaar off and regroup.

The thing that Martinez did wrong was blaming the ref for not stopping the game. He should've come out and admitted Howard was at fault. It'd save all the media questioning the style and the defence. As it was Howard who made the mistake.

Martinez' philosophy discourages booting the ball into row Z, and encourages them to look for a pass, even in dangerous situations. Which is what Howard did today. Howard was employing Martinez' philosophy when he decided against booting it into row Z.

I don't think choosing to pass the ball in dangerous situations is what caused Everton to win a few games against Arsenal and United last season, and I don't think it was behind the unheralded 5th placed finish. In fact plenty of clubs, including Everton, have finished 5th and above without employing a philosophy which encourages players to look for a pass in dangerous situations.

It will continue to cost us points.

He didn't though did he. 9 of his shots outta 10 are weak shots . I'd put my money on eto finishing his chances. U keep urs on Osman. P's. I advise u to take a trip to vegas. U clean up.
I said it as it happened anyone else on the pitch would have scored anyone, did the same against spurs last season, he just not a goal scorer

that wasn't anything to do with 'filossafee'. It was another individual error by someone who has made an error every game this season. Every man and his dog was expecting him to knock it out. Howard decided otherwise. Not Martinez.
Falcaos goal [Poor language removed] me off more. 4 defensive players around him and nobody knew where he was. You're right tho, we have had so many silly errors from our defensive unit this season points thrown away in practically every game. You could make a case for us winning most of our games this season.

We need this break now, get Barkley and Coleman back and well be good to go. Gotta say I thought besic was good today, think him and McCarthy could definitely cover that midfield area and give us a bit more energy than barry. Barry had a god game today tho. Lukaku was poor, as a big fan of the big man, he has been sloppy lately, gives the ball away cheaply and doesn't use his body well enough at times. He will come good tho, hopefully with Barkley back in and better service down the right with Coleman we can get him firing.

We've had a horrible start to the season, so many errors and injuries mixed in with European football and a difficult fixture list. Get this break out of the way, get our first team players back in and let's get some points on the board. The good news is there's nothing to fear from arsenal, man utd, the rs or spurs.

That's irrelevant mate, Martinez knew his budget and were he needed to strengthen, He decided to spend 28m on one player instead of lets say buy proper cover at RB and CB and get a real AM in case Barkley gets injured

I see what you mean, Martinez was given a budget and he chose to spend it the way he did. But the budget total isn't irrelevant, had he been given more then he would have been able to do more.

Yes...as per.

Anything other than admit the lad has done well.....it was all Shaw's fault.

That would mean acknowledging you were wrong and that, in fact, Hibbert did offer "fanny adams" going forward.
Didn't say he's not done averagely this game, or that that run wasn't good, but if Shaw hadn't tackled thin air - that wasn't that great was it?

Thank god we haven't got to put up with Everton for the next fortnight. Martinez says, "We showed terrific character." Sure he's on repeat. Such a horrible few weeks. The last three games we've ended stronger than we've begun matches, showing fatigue is definitely not an issue. What is, is baffling starting line ups, followed by subs that are either too late or not needed. How Hibbert has started four games in a row is beyond me. Crazy. Browning has shown himself to be perfectly capable when he's come on IMO. He may not have made so many mistakes since the Swansea game but teams are absolutely loving playing it down the left against us, and it causes the rest of the defence to creek. How Martinez doesn't see it is scary.

Other players have also been dreadful, so how their character can be praised I'll never know. Lukaku has been played out of position so much it seems as if he's lost total confidence, and his touch which has never been his strong point is now a complete attack-ender. I'm just hoping this is a typical poor Everton start and we'll pick up with more winnable games on the horizon. I just think confidence is now so low, coupled with all of our best players being injured means we're really in for a tough time of it. Not one game this season have we been consistent throughout.

That's it for me. Don't want to know until we kick off against Villa now!

Pienaar wasn't the reason we lost, I didn't mean to convey that but Everton is a better team now and need better players. I understand we have injuries so I shouldn't complain to much but in the future I hope he doesn't play.
