Well, it looks like Moyes made the call to switch when things got a bit rocky defence-wise. We haven't conceded that many since, but we haven't scored that many either...or created the volume of chances we were doing with Coleman + Mirallas. It looks the right decision when Hibbert is clearing balls against City (with huge assistance from a bank of four in front, it has to be said), but I can easily see the closing down of our attacking options being the wrong choice in weeks ahead when we need to force the issue against lesser opposition. Some say we should rotate with Hibbo and Coleman playing different types of opposition. I think that'd just confuse everyone and unsettle us. Coleman and Mirallas realistically are the only way forward and they need to be played when both available. Hibbo coming back into the team will eventually haunt us in the coming weeks. We need bold play and multiple options going forward.

Bold? Moyes?

Its better to beat the teams around you and lose to teams above or below you than lose to teams around you but beat teams above or below you.

Although strangely enough at the moment its really only West Brom around us we've played and lost to so we're not too badly off on that count. However even if we'd beat them but lost to Southanpton we'd 5th on gd rather than 6th 3 points behind them.

Thats why Spurs is now so important. Beat them we are level on 26 points with them. Lose and they will be 6 points clear of us.

Big time.

But I'd prefer not losing to your Arsenal's, Citeh's etc, and smashing your Wigan's and QPR's.

Mancini was a massive bulb but when Citeh finished 3rd he made a point of stating that as long as you don't lose against the top sides and beat the teams below you, you will be on course for the top of the league.

I happen to agree. Losing to Reading and drawing with QPR, Norwich, the RS etc hurts more.

Every week that passes this season I really cant see the massive gap in class that the 'big' clubs had over the rest of the league (or certainly over 'middle ranked' clubs) in the past. We need to grab three points each week. That's how you get a CL spot. A defeat from United or Stoke should be taken with the same sense of missed opportunity.

It really is a poor league. I fully expect us to finish 6th or 7th, but a club bubbling under the well resourced squads favourites to fill the 4 slots can, if they steer clear of massive injury crises and play an all out attacking game, pick up enough wins to darken the doorway into that exclusive club.

How ironic is it that I've been in Europe for the last week and haven't been able to catch our games? Blocked out via Fox Soccer I found out. ARGH.

Will watch when I get back and we are three points from the Spurs. COYB!

thoughts on Naismith?

he doesnt cut it for me. Poor. Gives away the ball, lacks strength and speed. Frustrates the hell out of me

Have you just declared a six-pointer?

You know what'll happen though. Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool will each spend 40-70mil in January and strangely suddenly come into some form, whilst we'll somehow manage to hang on to Fellaini and get in someone from the SPL on loan.

I know its early, but if score's go our way next week,we could be 3rd on sunday night, big ask for things to go our way as normally when we do what we need to do everyone else does what we didnt want them to do lol.
