You must have watched a foreign game mate....nobody destroyed us today. The Champions struggled to muster a decent chance nearly all game. We dictated the first half, and they dictated the 2nd. If that's destroyed then I'll take being destroyed at the Emirates, Chelsea, OT and WHL this season. You sound like Brenda claiming they've invented football and destroyed someone because Andres Allen made 40 1 yard passes.

We paid them way too much respect for large parts of that game either side of half time.

Great banter lad.

You sound like a kopite.

We got destroyed for the entire 2nd half, when a team has the ball, non stop and attacks, non stop, its called getting destroyed. Maybe read what I say in future, I said we got destroyed for 45minutes, I didnt watch the 1st.

Or maybe instead of reading, why not just put me on ignore, cos thats what im gonna do.

Toodles.

TBH untill the pen City were very poor - if we had gone in 1-0 up at half time we would have won 1-0! a woefull decision everyone thought it was a foul for a push on Osman no other than diving Dzekko appealed for a pen the other city players looked non plussed as probert took ages to give the pen???????

City were poor trying to break Everton down. We stood off a lot of the game. Why we did that when the evidence was that when we pressed them higher up the pitch they were hopeless and all at sea, I dont know.

If we'd have been more bold there we'd have won - bogus penalty or no bogus penalty.

TBH as much as TH makes our defence a bit better - Coleman & Marallis on the right hand side stop us being the force we are when attacking - they pinned Baines back in the 2nd half by swapping nassri over on him that virtually stopped our football outlet!
As for TH he made some great clearances from our week centre of defence, but he looks totally lost when he ventures over the half way line & back peddles when a fast winger attacks him!

Thing is, there were plenty of times when we looked like we could have done with Coleman when Hibbert got near the box and done nothing with it.

Its a fine line though.

Exactly. You either get more defensive solidarity with Hibbert or you look to want to score goals with Coleman.

Coleman and Mirallas on the right look like Pienaar and Baines on the left. Hibbert lools lost in that attacking 3rd.

But the roles reverse in the defending stakes though

Fellaini had a bit of a hold of Dzeko, and Dzeko went down VERY easily. To be fair Fellaini was fouling him and it was a penalty, although a very very soft one. Week in week out in every single game you see players getting mugged in the box from corners and nothing is ever given, but it has to be us that is on the receiving end when the ref does actually make a call.

MOTD at 10.30pm: 1.Reading/Man Utd, 2.West Ham/Chelsea, 3.Arsenal/Swansea, 4.Fulham/Spurs, 5.Man City/Everton, 6.West Brom/Stoke, 7.Liverpool/Southampton, 8.QPR/Aston Villa

need coleman on the right for balance

The last team to beat City at the Etihad was us 37 games ago. Only Arsenal and Sunderland have managed to avoid defeat in those 2 years other than us today.

A good draw that, and that's another one of our tricky run out of the way. Looking at the rest of the tricky run we see that isn't that tricky really.

Spurs at home should be winnable, especially if they're without Bale and we get mirallas back. Not many teams win 4 games in a row either.

Stoke and West Ham, can see a win from one of these two at least.

Then we have Wigan at home..... it's really not that daunting. WE should be cementing our top 6 (at least) position before kicking on like we usually do.

West Brom faltering, Spurs incosistent, Chelsea under the clueless FSW, Arsenal in a state of flux... there's no reason we can't get 3rd!

Two points from those two games wasn't enough, IMO. A win and a loss is obviously more beneficial than two well fought draws.

And we really didnt need to fear that poor Arsenal side at home, or City (who we have the number of, as recent history proves). Four points from those two games would have been acceptable. Two is definitely a let down. We are a CL place chasing team after all. Our mindset has to be win against all clubs at all times no matter where we play them. Three against Spurs is a must now.

Big time.

But I'd prefer not losing to your Arsenal's, Citeh's etc, and smashing your Wigan's and QPR's.

Mancini was a massive bulb but when Citeh finished 3rd he made a point of stating that as long as you don't lose against the top sides and beat the teams below you, you will be on course for the top of the league.

I happen to agree. Losing to Reading and drawing with QPR, Norwich, the RS etc hurts more.

Well, it looks like Moyes made the call to switch when things got a bit rocky defence-wise. We haven't conceded that many since, but we haven't scored that many either...or created the volume of chances we were doing with Coleman + Mirallas. It looks the right decision when Hibbert is clearing balls against City (with huge assistance from a bank of four in front, it has to be said), but I can easily see the closing down of our attacking options being the wrong choice in weeks ahead when we need to force the issue against lesser opposition. Some say we should rotate with Hibbo and Coleman playing different types of opposition. I think that'd just confuse everyone and unsettle us. Coleman and Mirallas realistically are the only way forward and they need to be played when both available. Hibbo coming back into the team will eventually haunt us in the coming weeks. We need bold play and multiple options going forward.
