There's no such thing as stagnation in football.

You develop new players you rotate your squad and you work with what you have.

Moyes is flexing his muscles with Kenwright et al. on this board.

q.v. Fergie at United. He's done the same. And he's not stagnated.

Of course there is.

I agree with the rest, but of course teams and staff can become stale. Predictability becomes a factor.

Be about a billion threads about all this snizz in the summer, getting progressively worse the more desperate we get and we will end up exactley where we are now.

Sound slike hes comfy with his feet under the table:

“I hope that the majority of the supporters who watch are realistic and say Everton are doing what they can.

“There is nobody more than me who wants to give the supporters a couple of players which I think can give us a real chance higher up.

“We’ve got a great chairman who everybody knows is a big supporter and we just hope somehow we can find a way of stretching ourselves again and have a team that can have something to go for.”

If, HUGE IF, he goes I'd like Alan Irvine and Duncan Ferguson to take over. As it stands, I do not believe it as our oracle is yet to speak!

Manager swap!

No, seriously the press are saying Carlo wants to stay in England and is even talking to West Ham.

If he'll go there, he'll come to us, surely?

Ancelotti in!

David Moyes has reiterated his desire to stay as Everton manager and is determined to come back fresh next season.

Everton ended their campaign with a 1-0 win at home to deposed champions Chelsea as Jermaine Beckford's solo goal secured his club a seventh-placed finish.

After the match, Chelsea sacked manager Carlo Ancelotti and Moyes, who has also been linked with Aston Villa, has been mooted as one option to take charge at Stamford Bridge.

Moyes works with limited resources at Goodison Park, however, the long-serving Scot has underlined his commitment to the post he has held for the past nine years.

"As far as I know I am here and I am the manager - that is what I want to do," said Moyes.

"I want to have a club where I can give the supporters something.

"I want to be fresh and have a good, fresh challenge when we come back next summer. Let's hope that's the case."

Everton's victory over Chelsea emphasised their return to form over the second half of the season after a slow start.

The Toffees were just three points off the relegation zone at the end of February, but lost only two of their last 12 games.

Moyes added: "At the start of the season I was one of the people saying we could do better than seventh.

"But I have had to reassess after seeing what is going to be spent and what has to be done.

"I have got to praise the players for how they have performed from Christmas onwards."
