To give the full story, Kenwright actually considered Jones before he hired Moyes but swerved it, but has been impressed since. Moyes was apparently about to walk a few years back but signed a new deal abruptly, and Kenwright had put his feelers out towards Jones who was doing well at Cardiff. They've been friendly for quite a few years.
