Hahaha, it was at a rather pleasant NYE party so I thought I'd best not spoil the atmosphere.

The party was in Chelsea actually. We walked past Roman Abramovich's house. It was ridiculous, there were houses 1/10th the size for sale for £4m or so. Lovely area, though.

You can get away with most sentences if you provide a cheeky wink at the end! Apart from really mean ones that make sick rise in ones throat.

What's a NYE party? And where you actually talking to mourinho?

Encouraging quotes from Martinez about lukaku. Sounds like he wants to save the money he has now to try to make a deal for him happen in the summer.

Sounded like he was thinking wishfully to me.

Think he knows how unlikely it is but just wants to test Chelsea's resolve anyway with a cheeky bid.

Wonder how much our (first) bid would be... Any guesses?

If the moneys their, we should tie it up this window though imo, unless it's using the tv money and part of what we should have now to fund it, freeing up a domestic loan would create options in this window

Sounds like he is saying to chelsea that the ball's in their court and hoping they approach us about making it a permenant deal tbh, could be a clever tactic giving chelsea the due 'respect' and allowing it to be them in the driving seat making the deal happen

Quotes in the express were that there was no chance this window, but they would see in the summer.

It's not about the money really, more about Lukaku's ambitions/whether we finish top 4. The latter is the only way we're keeping him.

Aye i read that article mate earlier, then again the one thing about bobby is that i dont expect him to give anything away on anything prior to it being sealed, see his comments about Mcgeady and the medical etc, think he will do any deal for Lukaku with little media attention until announced mate, still wouldn't shock me to see a development soon

I think he loves it here but I don't think he'd sign now. His stock is high (over rated IMO & a lot still potential) but come the summer after the World Cup it could be even higher.

He may as we'll see who's interested then, where we are heading and how he gets on in the w/c.

The same goes for Chelsea, a good w/c and they'll get more. Why would the sell now?

w/c can go both ways though mate a dire tournament can reduce values as well as a good one can build on them plus he likely won't be starting as benteke is the coaches favorite for that role, and chelsea don't strike me as a club who wait to do anything, if they want shut the player goes, if they want to hold them they stay,
