No fair point mate. I mean I did try to put certain caveats into the response and make clear I was commenting on what evidence we had. I'm sure there's a much bigger narrative. As I've said, I hope the officer is ok. As a country we need to look closely at what is fuelling this anger and start trying to heal divisions that have been allowed to fester for too long.
Violence and wanton vandalism is not going to heal any divisions. It's going to widen them.

The BLM movement needs to distance itself from them asap

This whole situation is a farce...
Some black people rioting and looting for the sake of it, idiots like Joshua promoting positive racism (only shop in black shops)
White people trying to one up each other to show just how much they care about an issue they were happy to ignore until it was headline news...
Flag burning and statue toppling purely just to cause havoc...

I feel sorry for the peaceful, genuine protesters of all colours, religions, genders who have tried to go about this the right way, their message is being lost due to the actions of idiots
When you resort to violence your actions lose all credibility
Spot on

Tell me more. Don't think I've heard this one

This weekend he tweeted a screenshot about trump and at the bottom on the camera roll was a porn video called ‘the punching bag ‘ of two blokes who given the video title are unsurprisingly punching a woman whilst having sex with her .

you may be surprised to know it was nothing to do with him , some kind of hilarious mishap I think and it was Chelsea or something. Everton wives and all that .

I am disgusted by the acts of thuggery and vandalism witnessed across the country over the weekend.

If that’s what the Black Lives Matter movement is all about then count me out.

Not in my name thank you very much!

They're probably thinking protester violence isn't good, neither is police violence, people should be social distancing, but standing up for all of our rights, for a more equal and better society is an admirable thing.
That didn't happen though. If it did this thread would have been about 4 pages of praise

Do you remember Gee Walker mate. The dignified and selfless manner she reacted to her sons death was absolutely inspiring and probably stopped mass rioting across the UK at the time. She single handedly did more to fight racism and bring the nation together against racially motivated violence than any of these marches and demonstrations have since in my opinion.

The world needs more Gee Walkers around

Ok.

I thought you may have had a story from your old pub days. I imagine you knew him being a frequent visitor to our city centre pubs

It's actually illegal to protest currently.

What a PM we have.

And what posters we have.

The social distancing rules allow gatherings of upto 6 staying 2 metres apart. That is what he is referring to as you well know. Enough ministers have repeated it over the weekend.

The message is also trying to calm the situation and also states explicitly that he believes the cause and the perpetrators are not the same.

BJ needs to be more clear in the tweet. The way he’s written it makes it sound like if these protests happened socially distanced they’d be okay but they’re illegal regardless of whether people are 2m apart.

I watched a programme recently called Britain's darkest taboos and it was about an Asian lad in Rotherham who murdered his white girlfriend and dumped her body in a canal. I don't think there was any protests surrounding her horrific death. Obviously her life doesn't matter.

I just don’t understand the logic if I’m honest . Somebody killed someone right , So why would there be protests ? Was is part of hundreds of years of systemic abuse or indicative of the state holding down Or oppressing a community whether real or perceived ?

What would be the aim of the protest ? If it’s to draw attention to the issues of domestic abuse then it could make sense otherwise I just don’t get it , should we have protests after every murder ? If you genuinely can’t see why members of a community are angry then that’s one thing but false comparisons like this just make zero sense and seem deliberately obtuse.

You've got it the wrong way round..

The world shouldn't need more people willing to forgive acts of violence and racism.

The world needs more equality in society and fewer police who think their uniform gives them the power to do as they please with no accountability for their actions.
