Current Affairs London Protests

As Troy Townsend said this morning- 40% of footballers in the league are BAME, yet that doesn’t translate across to management.

There’s quite clearly an issue.

Or. Less than 10% of managers are BAME, yet 40% of players are.

You can lob of crap at football, but one thing it is, is a meritocracy. Its dead odd though, granted.

Like some of the best managers have been Scottish. Why? What I do know, as an Englishman who worked for 20 years at a Scottish company, (in England), my experience of Scottish managers in that industry was they were better than most English ones I experienced.

Everyone else is doing it.....
I see. So you tell me I'm lying about something/making it up, I tell you you're wrong, you tell me I said something I didn't, I call you out on it; but it's fine for you to do it because everyone else is doing it...

Maybe stop replying to my posts Pete and save yourself some embarrassment

And if you believe what the Spurs lad said your gonna have football hooligans and likely EDL mob clashing with BAME protesters all whilst the rest of us are being told to not go into your parents house or be able to get a haircut.

Yes his gang do sound a bit tasty do they not? This is them I believe;

I dont want army on the streets- but sadly the police have little power in these circumstances. The Government nor the police want to be dragged into a race battle by the social media warriors therefore they have largely let the minority of trouble causers damage property and attack innocent people.

Absolutely bonkers.
If you are going to have a race battle against social media warriors then you probably do need an army!

All it takes is 1 person to light a fuse.

You posted a load of laughing emojis about it being peaceful. I'm glad you have accepted you were wrong.

And I reckon the Met can deal with that 1 person you're so worried about (or 20/30/40, however many the small minority actually is at future protests that causes trouble).

Sending in the army is such an hysterical and insecure over reaction.

85% of Primary school teachers are women......is that over representation.....
Yes.

Why don’t more men want to be teachers? What is it about the education system that is failing to attract more men.
Is it societal? Is it due to gender norms?
ive considered it a number of times but in my case it’s because it doesn’t pay well enough.
So in my case it’s due to that. If I wasn’t the main breadwinner than I would probably have done it by now.
maybe I’ll revisit at some point in the future.
My guess is that over representation in that case is down to women being less likely to be the main breadwinner and so it’s more financially viable. And as a second income it’s helpful to have the school holidays at home.

Quick look at the England World Cup 1998 Squad and later managerial careers

Alan Shearer - Newcastle
Gareth Southgate - Middlesborough
Tony Adams - Wycombe (quit, got a job 3 divisions higher)
Gary Neville - Valencia
Sol Campbell - Macclesfield
Paul Ince - Macclesfield

Shearer is a massive hero in Newcastle and he was a cheap option for Ashley who is a cheapskate

Southgate and Adams are weird ones

Neville is one of the highest profile ex pundits around due to sky - the fact he had to go abroad for work though shows he wasnt handed a job over here based on his ethnicity.

Even Gerrard for example is working in a dossers league with Rangers who have the same financial muscle as a League One side these days.

I honestly dont see the issue - you seem to be one of those types who think everything and everyone is against you and every setting has an ulterior motive and I dont think its the case mate.

The reason why I left my previous job quicker than I planned (at that time in my life I was in that cushy stage) was largely because some arse kissers in the job were given a leg up compared to those who deserved moving up the ladder - pretty much who you know rather than what you know.

It wasnt some conspiracy against me its just one of those things.

No I didn’t, I asked you why you seemed to insinuate that I’d come up with something that completely ran contrary to what you implied my true ‘first instinct’ was.

On seeing it I thought it was a bunch of lads trying to salvage it for scrap because it’s the harebrained thing that some in society do. Sorry it wasn’t ‘OMFG clearly a bunch of racists trying to save a statue that no-one outside of an esoteric group had really thought relevant until Sunday’.
Only you didn’t. I said that you can have your opinion on their motives, but my money was on them being otherwise. You then asked what they were and I told you to work it out for yourself. So you’ve either misconstrued my posts or you’re being deliberately obtuse.

Not arsed which it is tbh.

Stop equating your everyday issues to them of black people facing discrimination on a regular basis.

The examples you’re giving to try and put across how bad you’ve had it is pitiful.
