Of course im on the middle ground - you hear one black person say something is racist and believe it and call for change.
Ultimately it is no better than someone told by Tommy Robinson that something isnt racist and believing it without question.
Until Sol Campbell proves to me he doesnt get top jobs because he is Black im afraid im not jumping on a "PL is racist" bandwagon.
No. Again, you are wrong. I’m saying that institutional racism exists because of the evidence such as under representation at the upper echelons of society across lots of different disciplines. I’m saying that it exists because I’ve listened to black activists and writers and protesters and friends who have spoken about their own experience which has differed greatly from my own. I’ve seen the lack of representation across arts and media and literature. Im realising how little I know about the history of this country when it comes to racism and the impact people of colour have had on this country that isn’t talked about in schools.
I’m listening to the voices of the many people protesting telling us that it’s a problem.
I’m saying it’s just one of the many prejudices that’s I’ve never had to face because I’m not a person of colour, I’m not gay and I do not have a disability or because I don’t live in poverty.
I’m accepting it’s an issue because the evidence is telling me that it is.
you are saying that all of that, all of those people, all of those statistics, are wrong.
