you lads are right anyway, because we never moved ground before kirkby deal it is absolutely impossible that we will ever be able to move, kirkby was our saviour and it forsook us, now we await our inevitable doom. oh woe and strife.

Didn't we have a bet on this and I've massively lost again, or was that a previous one also?

How's that cigar tasting?

It's good news but no cigar.

You'll be pleased to hear Bradley:

"But if Everton now wants to sit with the city council the door is always open."

They are going to be crucial now. Pity the club declared a press war against them. Let's hope they have short memories.

We are sinking like one, a submarine that is.

Submarines do not sink. They drive to different depths at a neutral buoyancy (they neither sink nor float).

I am a submariner, so call me pedantic, but I dont like any mis-information about them going around. Sinking implies doom. Which is where you were trying to go with that post.

If Everton are smart, they will have a long memory.

If LCC offered Everton 1/3rd of the slack they've given RS on New Anfield, then we'd be in KD by now.

LCC will not stop until they have us as tenants and 2nd class citizens at New Anfield, walking under the Shankly Gates to The Kop and helping fund RS transfers with purchases made inside the ground.

I'd rather see us work to redevelop Goodison, piece by piece if necessary, than see Everton subjugated to the whims and wishes of RS and their willing accomplices at LCC.

HAHAHAHA GET IN THERE !!!!!!!!
:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

On a serious note though, We owe a great deal of kudos to KEIOC.
Without them Everton Football Club would pretty much be dead to me ... it meant that much.
Thank you. x

if it hadn't been the place that you guys are from though, would you have still been so enthusiastic ?

I'm from Lincoln mate, Kirkby means sod all to me. Until the whole stadium thing came up I thought it was just an area of Liverpool.

I was pro the move because as others have said, a new stadium is essential to our progression as a football club. Surely everyone agrees on that?? Kirkby was billed as the only viable option, and to oppose the whole thing just because of a technicality in it being out of the city just seems completely ridiculous to me.

care to expand on that ?

Not really. Explains itself really. We've had 3 years wasted on this and now people are celebrating the fact that we can wait even longer. Baffles me, to say the least.

well if you cant see what i'm saying then there's not really any point saying any more, or i'll get welts making some snide remark in a mod gang up, youre not very good at it by the way.

Grow up mate. This is a forum, people have different opinions. I'm not very good at ganging up? Well, good..

I hope kenwrong dont waste anymore fund appealing. Move on and consider other options, including selling his shares. The last thing we need is to drag this [Poor language removed] for another year by appealing.

This means another 10 years going to that [Poor language removed] tip. (n)

I say 10 years as it will probably take 5 for the board to pull their head from firmly up their arses and realise we are now firmly a sleeping giant. Before the club will be playing at a new stadium, another 10 teams will probably be owned by arabs and Bill still sat in the main stand sat on his thumb.

I wanted kirkby to go through, I'm angry that it hasnt, more due to the fact that so much time has been wasted over it. We need to leave the shed ASAP, I dont care where to, a bigger better smarter and tidier stadium will help rebrand and rejuvenate and boost income. I personally couldnt careless where they put it now or who they put us with, we need a new ground.

I never really understood the hatred of many towards kenwrong, but tonight I have been converted. Blind, lazy, foolish mingebag. **** off bill you timewasting, space watching, dreamcoating toss pot.

I think a little bit of perspective is called for:

This isn't a victory (pyrrhic, or otherwise) for anyone who supports the club and this includes KEIOC.

It is the end of a failure. For all their occasionally dodgy and misguided methods, KEIOC were right, Destination Kirkby was never going to be allowed, and the Club has spent a lot of time and money pursuing a dead end, alienating LCC and a large portion of the fanbase as it did so.

Meanwhile, the likes of Bestway offered a solution (spending a cool £1M of their own hard-earned to do so) that the Club couldn't even entertain looking into due to the ever extending exclusivity clause.

Danny, I think this is what RBOG is talking about when he says let's see what else rolls in. I'm sure we've all seen the sketches doing the rounds for Clarence Dock Mk II (with all the skyscrapers and rooftop trining pitch for Joey's hoof practice), the loop may even still be an option (if Bestway are still talking to us) but nobody will have committed any serious funding to proposals until this decison because they saw the way the Club treated Bestway.

It's a shame that we've wasted years on this, it's a shame that the Club has soured relationships that will need to be rebuilt, but it's time to move on, and hopefully now our hands are untied we can encourage, rather than discourage, potential development partners.

Don't mourn Kirkby too much, the Stadium design wasn't great, the Project wasn't great. Who, hand on heart, can genuinely say that they thought the Kirkby Stadium was an exciting and fitting home for our great club, as opposed to just being slightly more modern and a better income generator than GP? It was dull, uninspiring, and a bit of a cop out all things considered; and it was never deliverable - as we have just found out.

Let's see what the next one's like, eh?

Although I'm relieved to hear of the decision, it's a sad, sad day. All the time, money & animosity bound up in this misguided & ill-fated proposal has resulted in the club being no further forward. Following on from the failure to deliver KD, Kenwright's credibility will be lower than ever.
At the moment the club seems to be in a desperate state both on & off the field of play & looks rather bereft of ideas in either area. Despite my criticism of him on some occasions, I have to admit I have more confidence in Moyes turning things 'round on the park than I have in the liklihood of the Board doing so off it.

Good post.

For me this was always a non starter tbh we simply didnt have the cash for it another one of BK's dreams its about time he had a slice of reality pie and accept under his guidence we're just not going to go any further.

We have a good manager with potential to take us further but he needs funds to do this and not keep having to sell players to buy replacements, this sint how great or indeed good teams are made,so for now until new money is brought in forget about a stadium we couldnt afford and look to invest in the team..either that or BK should sell up and move out.
