KIRKBY MOVE REJECTED

Not for me mate - but fair play to those who didnt beleive in it, you have to admire the persistence and conviction regardless of opinion.

Same old stew different day - now - and for the forseeable future IMO!

What we dont want now is people believing the club pre-decision spin about 'decline or Kirkby' and becoming morose. This is a new opportunity. That's not a glass is half full Forest Gump thought for the day, it's real. It's predicated, though, on a change of ownership. I think after two failed stadium bids behind him Kenwright has to now say 'enough is enough, I'm going before I'm chased out'. Whatever shares he does in fact own needs to be sold and those with shares hiding behind him will not hang around for too much longer.

Our club is run by a bunch of fools. The whole lot of them are thick as [Poor language removed]. It really be is becoming time time for a complete clean out upstairs.

Meh, regardless of should, or ifs - a change is less likely to happen though now really isnt it!

Im not known for my lack of optimisim, in fact the opposite is often said of me, generally i can see the positives in even the most dire of situations. My above post is probably the most grave ive writern on here - but its what i beleive.

Opinions though dont really matter - time will always bring about the eventual outcome, like i say really hope im worng - i just dont think so - this is bad for Everton.

r/s have dismissed groundshare as they are ....
"in advanced stage of their stadium"
"a shared stadium not even considered"
"work will start when the financial markets reopen"

they get fed more shoite than is believable, they cant borrow the money, when they fail to get in champs league they wont be able to borrow anything, yet they are making out that all is rosy. the r/s had a sneering grin on his face when it was suggested. they are in their utopia so lets let them wallow in it alone.

elstone said they would look at it and any other proposals.

We cant afford a ground share - Elstone has said so. We could barely scrape the money for Kirkby.

ross on talksport..........

we only know what is in the public domain.

there's nothing we can do apart from go along with the decision, unless there was a legal issue to challenge, it doesnt seem that there is.

shared stadium... EFC have never ruled it out, the yanks did when they took over, they dont seem interested at all, there doesn't seem to be much work going on in s.p. though

facilities in g.p. are poor and antiquated, they think a rebuild would only give 36,000 and cost 200 million.

still saying a world class venue for 78 million is what we have lost.

is there a time limit on g.p.'s life ?....... no , it is fit for purpose, just restricting us

bradley has always said if kirkby collapses he will sit down with the club, elstone already spoken to him and they will also sit with tesco

Liverpool City Council oppose the kirkby plans, and then include it in their bid to become a host city for the worldd cup. Thick morons

RS have ruled out a shared stadium. They would not rule out a landlord/tenant relationship, with Evertonians serving as an additional revenue source for them.

LCC are worthless unless you wear red. Their only interest now is to pack us into New Anfield.

Tunnel-vision thinking only yields limited results. Everton can't rely on LCC or anyone else outside to get us out of this. The solution must come from within and I believe it has to start with GP as the foundation. It would not be impossible to redevelop Goodison. All that is required is leadership with the willingness to seek new solutions without trying to force plans into their own pre-conceived viewpoint as to what is possible.

They spent such a long time reflexively condemning any and all alternatives redeveloping GP that they are left buying into their own propaganda as if it were a proven fact.

As mentioned....the club is so out of ideas Im not surprised if we build a stadium out of lego.

At least it would be easy to upgrade!

Personally I have always try and keep out of the Kirkby debate. I don't live in Liverpool, I don't come up to games, so the arguements based on location and or quality of the stadium are largely immaterial to me. I only care about those things indirectly, in that they are important in so much as we should have a stadium to be proud of, in a location that isn't going to turn away fans, as after all there is no point having a stadium if no-one will go to watch the game. From peoples views on here it seems as though that was a very real possibility. I always wondered how that loss of fans would balance against the increase there would be without restricted views, poor facilities etc.

Either way, the project has 'failed', and whether people were for or against this shouldn't be celebrated. Be happy that we aren't moving there if you like, but not at the way it happened. I don't think that can be considered something to celebrate in any way.

Now I just hope that the club puts this behind them, and that something can be worked out that will satisfy as many people associated with the club as possible, instead of splitting the fanbase as DK has done.

Re-develop Goodison bit by bit over years is probably the best bet.

Ground share wont happen.

No one will come along and help us build another stadia in and around the city.

Re-developing GP bit by bit with whatever spare cash/what we can afford. Start internally with the corporate boxes, give it a lick of paint/referb and go on from there.

Unless Kenwright sells up and we get some rich Arab in.

What a great decision, I love you Gordon Brown.

It was a tough decision, apparently. All it failed on was...

  • Inadequate transport
  • The development would have had a terrible effect on the well being of locals in the shadow of it
  • It would have led to job losses and damaged trade in nearby towns
  • The scheme was comprehensively out of order with regional planning guidelines
  • The stadium was an eyesore
...apart from that it was all good.

Even the press have turned on him, they know its time, TAXI FOR KENWRONG, EARL AND THAT OTHER FELLA.

Kenwright and Everton's board have, however, overseen a divisive scheme that split a fiercely-partisan fan base and has proved impossible to deliver. There is little good news for Everton's owner and chairman in that.

And the brutal truth is that unless Everton's hierarchy swiftly comes up with a viable alternative to Kirkby, it is hard to see where Kenwright goes from here.
