Keeping hold of Fellaini

I want to keep him. I think he can take us forward with another quality midfielder with him, possibly Barkley or Rodwell

i think its sad really who do these players think they are ??

am pretty sure when we bought the lad there wasn't a big ass que trying to buy him,now a couple of years later after getting his chance and we all know he hasnt always been boss like, in the biggest league in europe for the best club he appears to want out.nothing to do with his arl fella constantly making rumors turning the lads head is it ?or am i being cynial ? does he really belive he could go and walk in to any champions league team and play week in and out .

i love the lad think hes boss dont want him to leave but lets get real it dont look like he will be here come kick off time in august tbh we should offer him a new contract asap like this week give him a couple of days to agree it if not sell him and move on we cant have another pienarr situation as the big man is far more valuable

I think he will sign a new deal in the next few weeks give us one more year and then want to leave next summer if he thinks the club isent moving forward

I think this is the only way we keep him for at least one more season. A line in the sand must be drawn to avoid the Pienaar situation from being replayed. Oh and by the way, it is so funny to see 'Arry Redknapp get all worked in a lather over other clubs trying to poach his players with low ball offers. Now that the shoe is on the other foot, how do you like it you gobbley necked melty face tit?

If he thinks he is too big for the club, then GET RID ASAP!

IMO £15 m. is a lot to pay for a limited player. Yes he is good at breaking up play, but so was Carsley. Must of his passing is either sideways or short, never a defense splitting pass. He is not very quick on his feet and never ever tries a shot.

If we could get £25 m. for him it would be a good deal. We could sign his replacement (McCarthy from Wigan) and two wingers in N'Zogbia and Morrisson (from WBA). That means that the money we would get from Yakubu and Yobo, and maybe Bilyaletdinov and Heitinga could be put towards a super center forward.

What does he say to suggest he thinks hes bigger than the club,he has said like all top players that he would like to play in the CL at some stage which i think is a fair comment

As for being a limited player he is a def mid and does his job very well, prob one of the best in europe when hes fit thats why the likes of Real Madrid are intrested in him, you say hes not very quick on his feet well he doesnt need to be his ball control and close touch make up for his lack of electric pace.

15m how much did Mascherano go for again?

Grandoldteam says on twitter & facebook: 'The media are reporting that Marouane Fellani is on the verge of signing a new long term contract.'

Just passing on the info. It already has 146 'likes' on facebook. Some of the comments by followers are epic, ranging from 'Champions League football next season' to 'Such a sexy young man' to 'Everyone seems to be forgetting about Osman'....Be boss if it is true (The contract not Osman, nobody puts Leon in the corner!!)

The best def mid since I began following football was Redondo, and Fellaini is nothing compared to him.

What I'm trying to say is that for £15 m. I would expect to get someone who could tackle and break up play and then some, but we didn't. When I say he has slow feet it is not a comment about his pace, but his about his movement - Osman has quick feet for comparision. His pace is not good, but once he is up and running he is not slow.

"Everton midfielder Marouane Fellaini has told the club his desire for Champions League football may force him to leave." - Mirror

hope that is bollocks..

It is utter bollocks. The Mirror have pulled a line out of the original interview (which was translated on here a couple of pages back) and made a nonsense strapline with a classic misquote.

Still...it drives on the forums posters who lap up every word printed in the tabloids.

Please sticky this mods and wrap it in lights!!!!

Makelele for me, followed by Dunga, then maybe Davids.

Carsley top 5

What the hell has Redondo got to do with anything its like saying Rooney is crap because hes not as good as Pele,i am talking about here and now Mascherano went for about 30m and there is know way he is twice the player of Fellaini

I think we will have to agree to disagree about his talents, if you think its not worth fighting tooth and nail to keep him then we will just go around and around in circles
